This place needs to be discovered! Amazing coffee. This is their new location (used to be only Haight Ashbury).
Friendly people, good vibes and nice coffee
While the fam was chilling in Golden Gate Park, I had to take meetings and looked for a place with pour over coffee. On a rainy day, where I got lucky with parking (parking hard in Haight) I walked 2 blocks to flywheel. It was busy around noon. With a single space available, Wifi was slow, and shared by over 50 people. Everyone was huddled inside. I would’ve given it a solid 4 stars, instead of 3.5, however the person behind the counter wasn’t friendly and their demeanor suggested they hated their job. I asked what are they pouring over, and they just pointed to 8 bags of coffee, not very helpful in suggesting which ones popular or interesting. Not wanting to hold up the person behind me, I picked one that was fruity from Kenya. The coffee was ready in 5 minutes. It was average for $6 (including 20% tip). I couldn’t wait to get out of the place and decided to work and take my meetings in the car. Overall after experiencing some amazing coffee experiences in LA, I guess I have a high bar for SF. Ultimately it’s all about the coffee, even if the service is sub par. Flywheel is a fly I won’t be squatting anytime soon.
Very good coffee and nice place to work
Really good coffee and very big coffee place to go and hang / work. It even has a patio. Pastries are really good too, and they have a lot of gluten free options.
High ratings for the espresso here—really well balanced, and the baristas have skills. Ambiance wise, it is vintage Haight: underlit , lots of black, a bit gritty, with dour baristas to match. But they know what they are doing.
Really nice 1/2 caff cappuccino
