Yummy healthy-ish fast-ish food
This establishment had been on my "must-do" lists for ages because I follow Eater and other reputable food sites that have consistently named FIELD TRIP one of NYC's finest. I was so DISSAPOINTED! 1. Service was friendly and we liked the vibe of the place very much. 2. Price point was excellent. 3. My fiance thought the gumbo was better than he had in New Orleans. (But he wished there was more substance to it... very little seafood). 4. My bowl however - crispy chicken and the side of spicy broccoli - were very average. Chicken was dry and smothered in sauce to hide that fact. (sauce was good, though!) And broccoli - while the sauce was delicious - was very undercooked/bordering on raw. I really couldn't understand why the food was below average. There weren't many customers that night, and usually, when it's slow, you often get better food because there's a level of care. Maybe I got the wrong bowl! I hope so, because there's a lot to love about this place but as of right now - it's not worth the hype!
Really love this place. Innovative rice bowls, stones throw from the park and filled with locals, was a real trip on our last trip to New York.
One of the restaurants stopped at our Health Freedom Walk on 1/15/2024 for a Vegetable Rice Bowl
The food was delicious!!! I loved those crab pockets!!!
Amazing!! And very affordable, got the vegetable bowl. It was 10.45 with tax. Love the dining area and I got no sauce with my food and it still had so much flavor!!! Blesssed
