Best champagne and Rose I have EVER had. Peter knows everything about everything. Wine yes but Boston as well. We learned so much while having the best champagne I have ever had. Don’t pass up this gem! Parking: Easy free parking!

Can’t say enough good things about Peter (Owner), his passion for natural wines, storytelling and my experiences on wine Wednesdays! Great price, delicious wines (generous pours) and open conversation. I always enjoy meeting some new people that come into Fermenta and look forward to his picks based on the featured wine / region of that week.

Fermenta is a great new wine bar addition to the Boston natural wine scene. I should have written earlier after my first Wednesday Wine tasting back in April. Considering humans receive great info on natural, organic, biodynamic, sustainably farmed wines and beers from a passionate experienced owner at $31.00 pp its a bargain. That owner is Peter Nelson who has been a friend and respected colleague voicing his well thought out questions, opinions and comments for years in the Boston/Cambridge wine scene. Now he has a very fun, industrial platform at Fermenta where he is willing to share what decades as a wine buyer, student and educator have afforded him from some of the regions best haunts. Located in the Foundation Kitchen Food Hall in the Graphic Lofts building at 32 Cambridge Street in Charlestown, Boston's smallest and oldest neighborhood. Swing by anytime after 5:00 pm closed Tuesdays. Fermenta doesn't do food but there are excellent vendors you can try while you belly up to Fermenta's intimate bar. Parking: $6 at a local lot / also VERY T friendly on the Orange Line

Great place! I went for a wine tasting event on a Wednesday night and I learned more about wine in that one night than I had my entire life prior to that night. Great wines and a great education on wine! Entertaining, compelling stories about the wines being served held my attention throughout the night. I highly recommend! You won’t regret it. If you love wine, you will love this place!!!

Got there at 9 PM, and was told it was closed. We wanted to call to confirm it was open but no number was listed on the website or IG. Came from the city just to give this wine bar a try. What a waste of our time. Why not list a phone number? I’ll be taking my business to other natural wine bars.
