Food is so good. You'll have to wait a while to get serviced though. Everytime I've come here there has been a wait. I don't mind the wait since I always bring my book here and it can get busy on weekends.
Ordered a hot matcha latte. Taste wasn’t too bad but the texture was powdery and gritty. Got an avocado egg and cheese croissant… Looked cooked from the outside but on the inside there was some gooey raw egg whites. Service was REALLY slow. Took nearly 40minutes for my friend and I to get our food and it wasn’t even busy!
Something about this small cafe feels right. It's comfy and cozy. The service is straightforward and welcoming without being solicitous or phoney. The caramel machiato was good. Balanced. My veggie dumplings were fresh tasting and yummy. I will probably be back soon to read and of course, drink coffee. I love all the books and laid back vibes. Good experience.
Genuinely confused by this place. The worker (assuming the owner) had spread herself over a large table with a large glass of tea and her laptop. My girlfriend and I had the option of a small table and were given small paper cups of water, one of which had some little bits floating in it. Our food was not bad, though I do wonder why, with a counter top piled high with steamers, that my dumplings (gummy texture), were microwaved and sticking to the paper plate I was given. She cooked waffles one at a time and would place the completed waffled on top of the waffle maker while making the next one. If you look around the small dining area, you get a good feeling of claustrophobia because it looks like a messy arts and crafts station which adds to the already cramped feeling. I do believe that they forget the "book" portion of their name because there was one small shelf shoved next to the bathroom door and no other books. Don't really plan on coming back which is a shame because I had so hoped this place would be good.
Vegetarian bao was delicious and vegan ube latte was original and tasty
Such a nice little hidden Gem in the Gaithersburg area. We came here on a bright Sunny Sunday afternoon and it was very pleasant! The whole cafe is very warm and inviting with all the natural sunlight coming in. Although we didn’t get any food, there were typical breakfast options along with dim sum. They even have some frozen dim sum to go! I was very surprised to see this at a cafe! We got the iced matcha latte and ube latte. The matcha one was definitely better with the creamy classic matcha taste, but the ube did have a deep earthy flavor mixed with the ube potato notes. Might’ve also been because I got the ube latte with coffee mixed in. The cups that these came in were adorable! I wouldn’t hesitate coming here for a casual date spot!
Went here to check it out based on great reviews. Ordered a cappuccino and it was not good. It was made very quickly so I knew right away it was not done correctly. The temp was not hot, mostly all milk, no foam and very light on espresso. The atmosphere was strange, it seemed like it was a storage area and the frozen dim sum looked unappealing. The worse part is the scent.. it had a funky smell like it was unkept. I was here years ago when they had a different owner and the food was amazing. The freshly made waffles with fresh strawberries and the Kim chi fried rice was to die for. I won’t be back unless there’s a change.
Love the atmosphere and how cozy it feels. Quiet enough to read/study. There are lots of interesting books as well. I had an Americano and raspberry chocolate waffles, killer combo if you ask me
