Faz has a great history and great potential to be great! I have great fond memories of this restaurant in various locations. It was the first time after COVID that I returned to Faz restaurant in Danville. I must say the backyard seating area with the waterfall surrounded by redwoods take you to a different dimension. Unfortunately, the service is lacking. We first sat in the bar area and noticed that service was non existent. The bartender was busy serving bar client which is understandable , but if you wanted to order appetizers or you needed something there was nobody around and you had to get up and go to the bar and ask for what you needed including any second or third drinks or refills. We finally got seated at the restaurant location. The host who is an older gentleman and has been there for many years is very unfriendly and despite the fact that they were we were called into our table he stopped us at our tracks and let me check to see if we’re the right group. He never once apologize for his behavior which caused some great confusion on our part with it this was supposed to be our table or not. Our waitress was wonderful but she was alone trying to cover multiple tables. Luckily we were a group of eight and we’re not in a rush so we took our time to drink and eat and that made it OK however if there was any rush in our timeline we would’ve had to leave because it took so long for the food to show up. The lamb shank was lacking flavor. The pizzas were OK but the dough didn’t seem like a true Italian thin crust. The salmon was OK but I’ve had better salmon elsewhere so all in all we had a mediocre experience. I was told that the pasta was good.
We had a fantastic dinner. Every single plate was well cooked, well seasoned. It was obvious to us that they care about their product.
Permanently closed. Being torn down to build condos
Food was good. I would have thought there would be more people with such nice staff and tasty food. Parking: Plenty of parking.
