Delicious food

I really like this restaurant near the house. Always great service and very tasty food! I recommend!

We ordered a takeaway on Friday, I remember the beautiful food from many years ago so I was excited to enjoy a takeaway with my hubby. We ordered scampi, large haddock and rock and 2 regular fries. My hubby picked up the order and asked if he could use the loo whilst the food was being prepared. The woman was hostile and refused. Fortunately there was a more pleasant male on duty and he intervened helpfully and apologised on behalf of his rude colleague. She eventually gave a grudging apology, but why be so unpleasant to a customer. The food itself was good freshly cooked but the fish portions were small not large. We’ve never had such small portions. The scampi was particularly delicious a small portion of 6 which was ok as a starter. We enjoyed the chips but the size of the fish was disappointing and the batter was nicely crunchy but slightly too much. We would have like to come and eat in but I wouldn’t risk being served by such an unpleasant person and I don’t know if she misunderstood the order but there is a big difference between small and large.

Amazing old school fish and chip shop; their chips are so crunchy on the outside but smooth and fluffy when you bite into them. Very chunky fat chips. They now have a tv screen up by the menu and you can watch your order being fried while you wait. A great price too ar £2.50 for a small portion. Lovely crispy but moist fish cake. Have been coming here since 2015. I noticed that food writer Fuchsia Dunlop comes here quote often and raves about. Also the staff are incredibly friendly and polite. I ordered take out but the very kind person who served me said I would be welcome to sit on their bench and eat. A kind offer on a very scorching day. Also they serve sweet potato fries, which very few chippies offer.

Terrible Gozleme Tasteless and abysmal

We went there as a party of 6, ordered starter Platter for 4 and extra portion of calamari plus 2 Cod and Chips, Skate Wing and Chips and Grilled Tuna and Chips (they didn’t have mash potatoes on the day). It was good size portions and we were stuffed. Food came out piping hot, which we all liked. It was not too busy on the day and we ask if we could sit at the corner and waitress was so nice and helpful to move us. Highly recommend this place.

All food piping hot, absolutely delicious, service lovely, will be returning again, highly recommend

Best fish and chips in town. Fresh cod my favourite with messy peas.
