Nice hotel, but some amenities lack high end feel or were not working and the area/outside big grungy. The staff at check in were efficient. The room was clean enough, though like other high end hotels, still little dust in corners, hair etc. Hot water too a while. Room bit small. Okay views. Bit bright early in AM and bit warm. Wi-Fi would have been upcharge I believe if not on conference rate which is frustrating. The sauna was slow and on timer, and second time to the pool complex, and the sauna didn't work at all. Pool was fine, but simple, with no hot tub. Nice view from pool though of downtown. The location is central in theory, but must use "tunnel" system to cross busy road, the tunnels were poorly labelled, and the main (recommended) entry way to under ground tunnel to access Earl's, MEC, hockey Arena area etc smelled of urine. The back way past Hy's was cleaner, but took a day or two to get used to. The area behind the hotel, to the river or past Hy's to artsy warehouse area and toy store is definitely rough, and I felt less safe outside there than comparable Western Canadian cities. Somethings beyond Fairmont control, like tunnel updates, cleaning and signage would have helped. Perhaps Winnipeg just bit rough around the edges. Just a bit less class and status than I've come to expect from other Fairmont locations, though not sure if there is a truly high end down town Winnipeg option? Nearby activities: 10 minute walk to Canada Life Center along busy road or opposite direction Museum of Human Rights, The Forks 5 minute walk to MEC, bit more to dumpy downtown mall Close to Earl's, via smelly, dim tunnel system - ask for directions Adjacent to Hy's Bit rough area of downtown, but Sal's diner immediately across street behind (affordable quick breakfast or lunch) close to The Forks, river valley but kind of dusty, dirty access, with lots of smoking guests (surprising at this hotel) and homelessness, camps - just felt bit unsafe here vs other Western Canadian cities. Perhaps more comment on City of Winnipeg than Fairmont. If not exploring the City/downtown, may suggest staying in suburbs or Brandon on drive through or CFL game or suggest stay closer to airport or Polo Park if shopping.

This property does not deserve to be part of the Fairmont brand. This entire property is old, beat up, and in desperate need of a full remodel. The rooms feature dated furniture, stained carpets, peeling wallpaper, filthy air vents. There is no old charm here like at other historic fairmont properties that are well maintained such as the fairmont chateau Laurier. I’ve stayed in motels with nicer rooms than this wanna be 4 star property. No concierge on site either. This is coming from someone who spends over 160 nights per year in hotels. Rooms: Old, tired, worn out, dirty

Just had a night at the hotel. I was told my room wouldn’t be ready till 4pm and they would text me when it was ready. At 4:50 I went back to the front desk and was told that the room was still not ready, they offered me a room with 2 small beds. I explained that I would prefer one bed as booked. I was then told he found a king bed room for me. I was given the key and it didn’t work. Back to the lobby for another faulty room key. The third visit for a new key I was given two keys and was escorted to my room to make sure it would work (it worked this time) when we got in the room the cleanliness was definitely sub par!! The dust was so thick that I drew a few pictures in it and wrote “dirty” in it for the cleaning staff to hopefully see. I won’t be back to this hotel as staff aren’t helpful nor friendly. You have to go in the basement to find a vending machine and it was 100% sold out of all drinks. Food and drinks in the lounge were good and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. I usually stay at the Fort Garry when in Winnipeg and that old hotel is in better condition then this one and it’s clean Rooms: Dirty and dusty Temperature Control only gave off heat and too much of it

My experience at Fairmont Winnipeg was exceptional! Not only were the accommodations luxurious with stunning city views, but the food and beverage service was also top-notch. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful dining experience, and the Easter brunch was simply amazing. The food was delicious, and the attention to detail was evident in every dish. Combined with the hotel's convenient location, it made for a truly memorable stay. Can't wait to return for another delightful experience!

Though the Faimont Winnipeg may be dated, it's dedication to service and location in the Heart ❤️ of Winnipeg adds to the appeal. Walking distance to some of the most admired Winnioeg attractions such as the Museum, The Folks, the Canada Life Centre to watch The Jets and more; it's the location that is the Fairmonts greatest accomplishment. The rooms are a bit dated and may be lacking some of the more modern amenities such as connectivity for smart devices, a bathroom ceiling fan and more modern lighting but the beds are still some of the most comfortable around and that what truly counts. The views, customer service and on-site dining are exceptional. The salt water pool is a nice touch but without the addition of a hot tub we didn't spend as much time. RECOMMENDED.

We had a group of people in 7 rooms booked for a work trip at the hotel thinking it was top tier service. We had travelled for about 8 hours and wanted to check in and relax before dinner at 6 PM. The website says check in is at 3 PM. They gave us 3 rooms and told the rest of the group that the rooms were not ready and they would have to wait an hour or so. They didn't offer anything and there was a restaurant on site. After about an hour without any response from the hotel or front desk and after several calls from our work office I asked to speak to the manager. I explained the poor treatment and asked where our remaining 4 rooms were that had been paid for since 3 PM and it was now after 7. They were apologetic but offered no real solution except that housekeeping was slow today. We had elderly with us and they were exhausted and hungry. They did send us to the restaurant after we strongly suggested some compensation and ordered dinner. It's after 7:30 and we still have not any word about the rest of our rooms. I will update when we get some possible resolution.

The velvet glove has teatime, which is really lovely. They also have a great dinner menu. Everything is made very well. I snapped a pic of my mushroom soup one night. Room service was fast! The rooms are OK. Pool was closed but they allowed us to take a free cab to a close pool on Broadway out of a gym. It was nice.. overall good experience. It can be hard to commute by foot around here. Taking a cab you can get anywhere quickly in the city.

It is an excellent hotel in a fantastic location in the city center. Extremely clean and comfortable. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff. My TV had an issue, and it was replaced within hours. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Rooms: The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet, and everything was very clean Nearby activities: Baileys Bar, James Ave Pumphouse, Underground walkway, Canada Life Centre Walkability: Close to various restaurants and activities Food & drinks: Great services
