Disappointed by the experience we had yesterday here. We were celebrating a birthday with the reservation being made weeks in advance. We were sat by the restrooms that smelled horribly and notified the staff but all they said is they would light up a candle. Our waiter checked in on us twice and seemed very annoyed when we asked for ketchup which took about an hour to get to our table, by that time the food was cold. There was also a table by us that got a complimentary birthday cake slice while we got none and our check was wrong to top it all off. Will not be returning nor recommending this place.

Fire. Baked. Focaccia. kick off your meal with this appetizer. Thank me later. The rest of our groups entrees were solid. Server was great, even with a slower bar. For a Saturday, one might expect both bars to be going, but that’s really the only blemish. Beautiful inside this place! Will be back.

3/24 UPDATE Well, it was an interesting night. We walked in. He asked if we had reservation and I said no I kept calling, but it kept going to voicemail. I tried to forward different times. Upon arrival they said they were full, but they had a little high top in the bar so we took that. I watched two couples come in with her two children, and because every single table in the bar area was reserved, they decided to sit at the bar while waiting for a table. They were immediately ran off, saying that there are no children allowed to sit at the bar, I didn’t know that was a law in Arizona. Very disappointing. Although Sophia was great, our focaccia bread was still amazing but the Bolognese had very little taste, really no meat and it was $23. Maybe worth about 12. I walked through the dining room and noticed a bunch of empty tables. Oh well, it’s not worth my money anymore. The food has gone downhill!!!! I JUST CAN’T —————————— Etta Day, Hanna, Alexander and Sean are my people that made the experience so FUN. Sean, I want to thank you for taking the time to explain what was going on in the kitchen. So much going on there! All was amazing! You all have the best focaccia we have ever eaten it’s like a peach tree puff up, light, fluffy, crunchy and moist. And the food was top notch starting from the bread, to the salad, to the entrée, to the dessert. The first etta that we ate at was is in Culver city California located in the Shea hotel, LOVED that hotel. I WOULD RECOMMEND.

My anticipation was high as I entered Etta in Scottsdale, lured by the positive experiences I've had at its Chicago counterpart. Unfortunately, my expectations were quickly dashed upon stepping inside. The ambiance was immediately marred by the sight and smell of dirty glasses, both for wine and water, casting a pall over our visit. Despite our attempts to remedy the situation by requesting replacements, the issue persisted, leaving us with a sour impression. As we embarked on our meal, the disappointments continued to mount. Dirty utensils greeted us, followed by an overly acidic Caesar salad and fries that erred on the side of excessive saltiness. Even the promising cacio e pepe dish failed to impress, lacking the finesse expected of such a classic dish. Adding to our frustrations was the palpable aloofness of the staff. While it appeared more a result of sluggishness than intentional neglect, their lack of attentiveness grated on our nerves. Our waitress failed to inform us of happy hour specials, and her knowledge of the wine selection was sorely lacking, disappointing us as avid natural wine enthusiasts. We initially sought a natural rosé, only to discover it was no longer available. The waitress attempted to steer us towards alternatives that didn't align with our preferences, leaving us dissatisfied with our wine selection. Even the most basic items, like the burger, left much to be desired—unseasoned and overly heavy. Meanwhile, the state of the bathroom, with its evident plumbing issues and unpleasant odor, further soured our experience regarding cleanliness standards. In conclusion, my visit to Etta in Scottsdale fell egregiously short of expectations. Despite being drawn in through the inKind platform, the experience was far from satisfactory. The contrast with its Chicago counterpart was stark, and I cannot recommend this establishment. The high cost of the meal, totaling $169 before inKind credits, only highlighted the shortcomings. Without these credits, the visit would have been a waste. Moreover, mishaps with our water order, failure to replace dirty glasses, and a server's lack of communication skills added to our dissatisfaction. These issues, combined with the overall lack of attention to detail, left us with a disappointing dining experience at Etta in Scottsdale.

Service and ambiance were great but the food was mediocre. I ordered the soft scramble and it was disappointing/didn’t come as described. The server was great though and did what she could to make it right. Others in our party had the smash burger and complained about the saltiness. The other thing I thought was shocking was that you could not swap your side dish from fries to a salad - the chef would not allow it. First time I’ve ever come across this type of silly restriction before.

We had been excited to try Etta and unfortunately were disappointed. I think our experience “could have” been better, but we were seated in an off-area with no ambience and wind screens flapping with the busy street on the other side. I could see a nice restaurant through another area, but we were not a part of it. The ceviche was full of red sauce/ spices and overbearing- my least favorite in the valley. I loved the baked oysters! The roasted chicken and cauliflower were good. Our server was really busy “on the inside” so we sat and waited for long periods of time without drinks, between dishes, etc. Overall, a disappointing experience. Not sure if we’ll be back with so many amazing restaurants around.

First time dining here , food quality was very good , ordered two pasta dishes very tasty but portion size was terrible , when serving pasta dishes restaurants can be more generous based on cost of pasta , for some reason this restaurant doesn’t feel that way . Would go back but not order a pasta dish for that reason.

Went here for dinner with friends. It was ok. The service was awful. Food was mediocre, and the atmosphere was lively. We had issues with our drinks, the first round was good, but the second round tasted nothing like the first. When we mentioned it to our server, they had another drink made for us, it was even worse. We had to ask for new plates after our appetizers, and ended up piling dirty dishes on the floor as no one cleared these plates prior to our main plates coming. When we mentioned this, we were told to have some grace as management had made floor cuts early and they were busy. Overall, for what you will pay at Etta for a meal, you could go somewhere else and receive better food, and much better service.
