Service was terrible specially front cashier. I never had this terrible customer service from cashier person which is person who needs to focus on “customer service” very rude, I understand it’s nyc and how busy they are but I never had this experience with any other places in nyc. Busy can’t be any excuses
Just received a delivery order, borderline inedible: the bagel sandwich had no salt and was soggy and they sent the wrong kind of bagels. Overpriced on top of all that...never again... you're better off with a street bagel
Ive tried many many bagel stops in NY and this one beat them all. The pumpernickel was outstanding - huge air pockets and great chew. The cream cheese had that salty tangy flavor that was equally as tasty.
The bagels were absolutely deliscious. We went to get a classic, New Yorker Bagel, and we found it at Ess-a-bagel. Tasty bagels with a great history! The staff is friendly and helpful. The variety of bagels and cream cheese is outstanding! Defenitly worth a visit. The ambiente is ok - better for taking away and eating in a park nearby.
202404 Back to NYC and back to bagel heaven! Dense and springy. The sesame bagel is generously covered in aromatic sesame. Pumpernickel has an ancient fragrance of rustic rye bread. There’s a long line as always so I will skip customization the time. Reuben is glorious. Stacked pastrami. Juicy flavorful pickle. Sauerkraut is lovely. The melted cheese is beautiful but solidifies quickly in the cold weather. Signature: I usually prefer plain than with shmear but the scallion cream cheese tastes good. Nova Salmon is thick, fresh, not too salty and almost tastes like good sashimi. Space is crowded but seats may be available from time to time. There are stores with less waiting time but I prefer this more nostalgic looking location.
Best bagels! Always fresh and soft.
