This was previously my favorite restaurant. We have been coming here for the last three years, however we went yesterday night expecting continued consistency and were met with great disappointment. We ordered our usuals and everything was off. To start the beef teppanyaki tasted like a different cut of meat than usual, it was also dry and overcooked. Then the Empire House Maki Sushi was just off, it wasn’t warmed properly like usual and just didn’t taste the same or good at all. I guess i’ll have to find a new restaurant.
The food was very disappointed despite the very high price to pay. No better than an ordinary restaurant in Chinatown.
Great food and the sushi was very good
The restaurant looked good on google maps but had not a nice athmosphere and the food is way too overpriced. 37 dollar for orange chicken from Pan** Express and drinks were also very basic and way too expensive for that.
Had dinner at this location on Saturday, March 23rd...and it was great Reservations are a must...complimentary coat checking on this rainy evening was a plus...hostess sat us down at our table overlooking the open air kitchen, which i am a big fan of...right away we were asked if we want still or sparking water...waitress came right after that and took our drink orders...we chose many things off the menu to name as we shared many many apps, but they were all excellent...the specialty drinks to choose from were fun, i tried the peach mai tai...didnt have dessert as we were full...NOW THE FUN PARTS BEGINS, this place turns into a mini lounge/night club with a DJ and that part was LIT...once we were done at our dinner table, we moved to the middle open air space with the high boy tables and hung out there for the rest of the night...excellent vibes, excellent crowd looking to have a great time with friends, drinks and music...easy access to get drinks...VIP available for bottle service for those that choose...great place to celebrate bday parties, and then stay for the music. For those that have been in NYC and gone to TAO Downtown, its compare Empire to that location( but not up to TAO level ) Its my first time at this location, but will def be back and will recommend to others that come visit Boston
