For a birthday meal, I had my heart set on a nice brunch. I chose Ellyngtons and now we’re laughing about the experience. The location? Beautiful! Upscale, antique, rife with old-world beauty and Italian renaissance architecture. The atrium where they were serving tea would have been better than the meal. I have NEVER had such awful food at such a price point. I got the prime rib corned beef hash. The meat was cubed, unflavored, hard and dry to an inedible point, the “green chili” was just vinegar-y (lending to an even more dried out meat), with a soggy hash brown mess. I hate wasting food but that was awful. My mom got the “crab” omelette and there was NO crab. Not even crab flavor. Light on the cheese and asparagus too. There was less than one stalk’s worth of asparagus in it. Overall, we are so shocked by how bad it is that we’re laughing about it. The service was good, the location was lovely, but the food….oye. Avoiding that forever.

Our server Justin was awesome he was in great spirit serving us group of 7 ladies bottomless mimosas, he filled our drinks every time, laughed with us and suggested good food for brunch. We got to dine in our own private room and we loved it! Biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs was delicious, the coffee and creamer was also so good. Originally booking our reservation we had no clue ellyngtons was inside the brown palace but glad it was we are all natives to Colorado and have never actually seen the place so it was quite nice! Thanks for the fun time and experience, give our server a raise

Wow, what a disappointment the remodel is. It is very modern and Marriott like. If we wanted a Marriott, we would have went elsewhere. The beauty of the Brown is the history and old historic feel. We felt like we were eating in a hospital cafeteria with bright overhead lights and white from floor to ceiling. Please stop modernizing this beautiful establishment and bring some old life back to Ellyngton's.

Food was overpriced and very mid. Service was amazing however. Construction seems unfinished.

Went here for Christmas brunch after the remodel. Ellyngtons used to be charming but now you feel as if you are eating in a Denny’s. Our folding table was flimsy, chairs were old, and we were sat next to the musicians, who were good but too loud. The food was good overall but not for the price. Spent $600 with tip for 4 people. No way will we go again. I have gone to other expensive restaurants that have much better atmosphere and comfort. Aesthetically the room makes me want to vomit. Whoever is responsible for this remodel should be fired. It doesn’t fit with the rest of the hotel. The server was nice and prompt, so at least there was that positive.

We made a reservation for today Christmas Eve. We thought it would be ordering off the menu. We showed up and it was a Buffett. It was fine. The food was decent. However, when we got our bill it was $647 for 4 people! We were never told the price of the Buffett. I don’t understand how you can charge that much when it is under renovation and everyone is eating off of folded tables dressed up with white table clothes??? We won’t be back!!

VERY disappointed in the 2023 Christmas brunch. Ellyngton's should be ashamed. Food was mediocre, at best. It was nothing like previous holiday brunche we've attended. Won't be back for a long time, if at all.

So disappointed in the Christmas Brunch. The food was meh at best, the meat selection was awful, the so called cheese trey was terrible, close to 500$ for 3 people is ludicrous for what was offered. The servers were ok but not great. We will not be back and I will make sure to spread that news.

We have been going there for 30 years for our annual Christmas Sunday brunch, I understand the Covid issues but that is no longer the case. I made our family reservations in April and was told the renovation and brunch would definitely be back by then. Well they lied, we showed up and the place was a mess and worse than ever and no buffet at all. Since we were there and hungry we ordered off the menu and got served and hour and half later, yes 90 minutes, what a disgrace for an old classy place that is not worth ever visiting again. Really really disappointing, even if it were a Denny's, let alone the Brown Palace. Table for 5 was tiny. I was hitting my knees on the folding legs. Server spilled coffee all over the saucer. No thought to get a replacement, so cup sat in a puddle. Took about an hour for the food to arrive. It did not all come out together. And the waiter forgot a portion. One pathetic piece of toast with the omelet. Servers could not make room on the table for the field. I "suggested" to remove the empty Bloody Mary glasses. Huh. Great idea! Waiter was remined to bring back my credit card after 10 minutes. Host asked how it was. I said "Frankly, really disappointing. His only response "I'm sorry to hear that." Pianist playing holiday music was nice.
