I was visibly hesitant about what to try...The chef recommended the choux.... Wow. It was delectable. Délicieux. The chef and cashier were very polite and welcoming. The seating area is small, but looked comfortable and cosy.

As someone who appreciates fine baking and has a refined taste for pastries, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Eline Patisserie. I ordered the Opera cake, hoping for a delightful treat, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. Firstly, the chocolate glaze on top was overwhelmingly sweet to the point where it tasted more like caramel than chocolate. This overpowering sweetness completely overshadowed any other flavors in the cake, making it difficult to enjoy. Furthermore, the coffee cream layer was disappointingly thick and failed to properly complement the cake layers. Instead of seamlessly blending together, it felt like a clunky addition that disrupted the overall harmony of the dessert. Additionally, the quality of the chocolate used in the cake left much to be desired. It tasted cheap and lacked the richness and depth that one would expect from a high-quality pastry. Considering the subpar taste and quality of the Opera cake, the almost $14 price tag was unjustified. I would not recommend their Opera to anyone who appreciates good quality pastry. There are certainly better options out there worth exploring.

C’est adorable comme petite patisserie. On voit la cuisine, c’est vraiment magique de voir les créations naître. Et les pâtisseries sont délicieuses, et magnifique!

Honestly the best food discovery of this year in Ottawa! I missed the opening of this party shop, but I finally got to try its delicacies after walking by its large, sunny window on my way to work. There seems to be a frequent rotating choice of pastries, which are all made fresh daily. I have never been disappointed in all the times I’ve been there: all pastries are masterfully made. You might think that prices are a bit higher than other pastries shops. The prices are justified though: the pastries and cakes here are the “fine dining” equivalent of restaurants, it if makes sense. Dietary restrictions: Many gluten-free pastries available.
