Great atmosphere, service, schwartz smoked beef brisket sandwich and bottomless root beer.
Amazing delicatessen! I had a mile high pile of the most deliciously fresh house-made corned beef with two shmears of chopped liver and I was in heaven! Didn't try any of the breakfast/brunch items but I must say all of the plates of challah french toast and pancakes I saw at other tables looked incredible. Will definitely be back for more. Our host and waitress were super warm and friendly. 5 star experience without a doubt.
Cozy diner near the Hilton South Loop Downtown.
Great place. Been there 3 days in a row for breakfast
I honestly had no idea this place existed until recently and I was so blown away! It was super crowded, BUT the wait was so worth it and you can order drinks while you wait as well to keep you occupied lol. Bartenders were lovely as well.
For classic Jewish diner food in Chicago this place is pretty solid. For classic Jewish diner food in general, Eleven City Diner is alright but I’ve obviously had much better (in New York). Prices were high and the atmosphere was very touristy. Not a laid back or homey vibe, but regardless the interiors were well done. Although they hyped up their Bloody Mary it tasted pretty average to me, not overly rich or flavorful (not bad though). Matzo Ball soup was good. I could have ordered just the soup, the Matzo Ball was huge and broth had great flavor. Corned Beef sandwich was fine, but that’s it. Could’ve used some more meat for the price. Nothing that blew my socks off, but it was a good sandwich. Overall, if you miss East Coast diner food and you’re willing to shell out some cash, this place will suit you fine.
Amazing location and really tasty food.
