The waitress was very rude from the start. We had a group of 17 come and she had an attitude when we walked in. She didn’t want us putting tables together and moving chairs to accommodate our group size. We ended up leaving 10 minutes coming into this restaurant. Response to the owners response: No where on your website does it say to call ahead in advance for a larger party than 6. Plenty of large groups go to restaurants without calling prior unless stated on the website. As for moving the tables, yes there should’ve been more communication, however of course a big party is going to want to sit together. Even if we sat at different tables we still would’ve taken up all the chairs. Therefore other customers couldn’t sit it them either way. You had a large group who was willing to pay and tip well but you are worried about customers who weren’t even there. There was 3 other customer's in the restaurant. We agreed with her when she said we cannot block the entry way and moved as she asked. There was no issue there. We were just trying to sit all together comfortably. We sat at different tables to comply with her. For the wet sign, I was not there when that happened so I cannot speak of that. We realized there was only one of her which aided in our decision to leave, you have 1 person working on a Saturday morning, that is no customers responsibility to “take in consideration”, that’s your job. Our issue was she had an attitude and wasn’t welcoming from the start. It’s understandable to be annoyed with a large group when you’re the only waitress working, but again how were we supposed to know she’d be the only one there? If you guys don’t want large groups at your restaurant state that on your website.

This place looked really great on tik tok. We walked in and the staff were friendly. We ordered our food and when it came was really disappointed. The “Queso” was concession stand cheese. The sliced cheese on the croissant wasn’t melted. The limonada and potatoes were really good though. Overall the food lacked the flavor we are used to at a Mexican restaurant.

Love that place! Lived here forever and never knew about El Rey till about a year ago and everything is great!!! The beef breakfast burrito is the best in town!!
