MAN I loved this place!! The food was excellent, salsa was delicious. It's just the kind of Mexican joint you might drive by wondering about when you go to the stock standard strip mall version down the road but this place was the real deal. It's my new spot in ATL. Side note, octopus taco? Changed my life.

Authentic service. Great food. I come here every few weeks. The building is worn and festive. Leave your strappy heels and wing tips at home. The place is filled with working folks and old friends. They're always glad to see me. Their English isn't so great but I can see it in their smiles. They're attentive and friendly. The tacos are consistently great. I usually get buche, cabeza and barbacoa. Always fresh, tender and flavorful. The chips have that crunch that sends a hearty roasted corn scent through your head. The guac is creamy and robust. I've had other stuff. The beef ribs and other dishes are good. However, the old mex standards like tacos, enchiladas, guacamole and such are where they shine.

The beans, meats, and tortillas were all delicious. The rice and margaritas were just okay. I'll be going here again for sure, and will try new things. The expansive menu will ensure you find something you like. Parking: This parking lot is a pain for larger trucks. Be sure to use cation if you have a bigger vehicle.

The chicken tacos are amazing. I will definitely be returning.

Food is delicioso. Best authentic genuine experience in the greater Atlanta area. Must try, taste, smell! Service is attentive and kind. Can’t go wrong visiting El rey del taco.

Didn't even get inside. I went at 545pm on Sunday 4/14 and got on wait list at 545. Girl inside says maybe 15min. I said ok. At 605 so many people after me were going to tables. I asked at 617 why my name wasn't being called. Outside hostess went inside to check. She came back and said they told her no tables for 1 as they are only taking families and groups but I can wait longer and see what happens. POOR POOR SERVICE AND UNACCEPTABLE!! IVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN BEFORE AND I WON'T BE BACK ANYTIME SOON AND WILL SPREAD THE WORD if you are bu yourself and trying to just eat. I got passed by everyone. I hope Management follows up. Amazing Mexican restaurant! Food is always amazing and I love picking up their food late at night. You will have a wait if you want to dine in, but worth the experience! Can't go wrong with any of their selections!
