2024: Editing (since we can't leave new reviews once we've reviewed a place): Two years ago, when I first reviewed El Rancho, it was run by a completely different crew. Then it closed down for a while. A little over a year ago it opened with new ownership - a very reputable group, well known for operating other quality establishments. With five in our party each time, we ate here twice during our most recent visit, and both times we were all (including the pro chef with us) well impressed. I feel like deleting the old food pictures from two years ago, they're irrelevant now. The new food blows it away. Be sure to consider the dates on any reviews and photos you consult. It's a little pricey, but anything of quality is, these days. It's worth it. Plus no tipping, it's added into the total, which is perfectly fine with us. It's well deserved. Both times we were served by Liv, she's amazing in all the ways - I don't have to detail it, you know what I'm saying. 2022: We come home (after moving away) to visit, and we enjoy having a bite to eat at El Rancho. We loved this historical place 40+ years ago, and are thrilled to see it thriving again, after quite a few years of not doing well, and even closed at times. Tonight after arriving we enjoyed a little live music in the Aspen Room, and the food was good. Very busy, very pleasant atmosphere
El Racho Deserve all compliments and more, me and my husband went trough an emergency in town, and they went above and beyond providing the best experience we could have to help us decompress, relax and enjoy the rest of our night! AMAZING FOOD, SUPER KIND PEOPLE, FANTASTIC COSTUMER SERVICE, DRINKS and ATMOSPHERE, we will for SURE be back! Thank you for the WONDERFUL service!!!
Nice atmosphere, cool building with good views. food was cold and our entrees did not come out together. Service was terrible. Not sure what was going on but we had three different servers passing our table off and they all seemed to forget about us. The first acted like we were the greatest inconvenience. The second tried to bring us boxes and the check less that ten minutes after we received our food. And the third was stoned or something. Then two of them started arguing with each other right next to our table. The whole experience was very uncomfortable. We came in at 6:30 so it’s not like we were coming in right at close. If the host sat us in someone who was cuts section take it up with them, don’t take it out on us. So disappointed was really excited try it but will not be going back. Idk maybe it was an off night but not willing to give it another shot
It’s a relatively nice place, but what you’ll pay for the food is outrageous. It’s just lazy cooking. You’re better off on your grill and going for drinks after.
Less chatting people up, more doing the dishes.
Very mediocre experience. Food was average, service was good atmosphere is a classic but they had two different music blaring which is annoying. They add a 22% service fee which includes the tip. I see the benefits of that but I hope all restaurants aren't going that way. Can't make a strong recommendation one way or another but personally we will not be going back.
Liv was my server. Great home hospitality. I would recommend the food . Awesome service and environment was so comfortable. Relaxing and service was awesome thanks Liv we will be back . Gratuity was OK .
My husband and I came to have a celebratory dinner for us. He had the French dip, and I had the smoked chicken pot pie. The food was amazing. The best part of the evening was our amazing waitress, Liv. She was attentive, a great conversationalist. Her smile made you smile. We will definitely be returning with the kids. As for the CHP tips, it is for the entire team, not for just one. All around, I can't wait to try the drinks next time!
