First time to El Pollo Loco at Delta Shores. Cannot recall if we, husband and I ever ate at one of the restaurants. Wanted to try, after receiving a coupon. Standing at the counter, one can see all the chicken cooking a grill. Looked fabulous! Cashier staff was nice. We ordered the two meals: chicken thighs and drumsticks, salad, tortillas and "sides" from the coupon. Husband said it was a savings of $3+. Because he normally bbq food outside in the backyard, I know how some food are cooked. Plus I prepare many ethnic foods at home. Overall the food was fair and odd. Chicken thigh was definitely brined with salt and had a nice flavor. Next the drumstick. My husband warned, "you won't like it". Yes he was right... overcooked and dried out. Plus spicey hot, yet not the thigh. Rice reminded me of a boxed rice: processed and favored. Texture was odd. Coleslaw tasted spoiled. Husband said it seemed okay. Yet the end of the meal he tossed the remaining into the trash. All the various salsa, green sauce and another greenish white sauce were good and tasted fresh. Noticed all four trash receptacles were overflowing with trash... Verdict: come again to eat? Not likely.

Had 4 workers in the back with 2 people in line including myself. No one acknowledged us and offered to take our orders. After waiting I say to one of the workers, “excuse me, you see us all standing here, I see your busy can you at least acknowledge or say when you’ll be able to take our order?” He tells me he’s working on to-go orders I told him I completely understood, but that was rude to leave the customers waiting without helping and you have over 4 people working and we can see each other. He told me he’d help us and he did, grateful for that but I didn’t appreciate that if I didn’t speak up we probably would’ve been standing there even longer, the service industry is about service, a lot of people fail to remember that.

Very dry chicken and every thing we ordered cam back wrong..the kid at the drive up acted like he didn't want be there ..waste of 30$ !!!!!!!! I'm on a very very strict budget !! I can't afford this !!!

Nachos so good and the chicken with the green sauce yum!!!
