El Pinto has had a bit of a rollercoaster ride in food quality but I hope it is still rising in it's current arc. The Carne Adovada was pleasantly spicy and clearly made from fresh high quality pork. The red and green chiil were both nice but lacked a golilocks option. Only hot or mild are offered. Others in my party enjoyed the Relleno, which was well prepared and served with the chilli on the side to preserve freshness. Like many NM stsndards, the soppapillas were brought with the meal. If you prefer to enjoy them hot with honey at the end of your meal just let your server know when you order. Their prices are a bit high for what they offer but shouln't stop anyone from checking out this iconic ABQ staple.
Seems like the restraunt and decor has really gone downhill. The chairs were filthy, the floors were dirty, the food was average. Would not hurry back.
Great authentic Mexican food!
A very pleasant surprise... Previous visits had been a bit lackluster, with food quality not up to park. Had some guests we wanted to experience the ambience, which is always spot on, and had a fantastic experience. Great food and service, the queso had an especially unique flavor - I'm sure we'll be back again soon.
