You don't see many Peruvian restaurants around the bay area. I always come to this one because of their friendly service. The treat us like Family. They care to get our order correct. Their music is great and we feel we are back in Perú. Chinpun, Cayao.

My mom and I are regulars at El Mono. They are a solid genuine Peruvian restaurant with awesome welcoming staff. Our favorite go-to meal is lomo saltado or ají de gallina. Recently, we ordered Arroz Tapado (ground beef with raisins & olives)! We always order cancha, yuca frita, helado lúcuma and my cocktail pisco sour! Yum! I’m already thinking of my next meal: bistek a lo pobre & chupe de camarones. I’m grateful they expanded to a new location and continue to thrive in El Cerrito. I wish them continued success!

Brings back my memories of Peru, just simply an amazing restaurant. Can't go wrong with the menu, it's all so freaking delicious

Good food but bad service! I walked in 2 minutes before they open and the server told me to step out and he will let me back in with in the next two minutes when the officially opens smh 🤦🏽‍♂️

We've been coming here since we moved to the area - both dining in and taking out - and this place is consistently delicious. The flavors are amazing- some of our favorites are the pollo and lomo saltado, aji de gallina, vainitas de pollo and the pescado frito (just to mention a few). If you have a chance to dine in I'd recommend. Staff is always friendly and food is always on point!
