El Meson Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

I live out of state now and have for about a decade, nothing has changed here and the food is as good as I remember

We had 4 people that ordered margaritas. Waiting for the 4th person, we asked for chips and salsa. The waiter/manager said that was only for people who ordered food. We said we would order once the 4th person arrived. When she came she ordered a drink and asked for more chips since she had just arrived. He said oh you're only drinking." We said we were going to order, but since he was so rude, we would pay for our drinks and go. We went to Mexico City, where a basket of chips and two bowls of salsa were placed on our table immediately. We ordered in a few minutes, and we were treated so well at Mexico City. We will not return to El Meson again. 40.00 OF Margaritas was not enough to receive chips and salsa. We have never been treated like that at any Mexican restaurant. We always drink, have chips and visit, then we order food. There were only 2 other people in the restaurant we were not holding up the table. By the way on a $30 tab at Mexico City I tipped $10. You're tip was what you deserved

Their clocks are a little fast, so the lunch menu ends before 3:00. Booths are too painful for me. I've tried eating lunch there on two recent occasions, and the booths caused my back to hurt to where I could barely walk to get out of the restaurant. I probably won't be back. Too much competition with better service, atmosphere, and comfort. We ordered dine in and ended up taking it out. Service time was longer getting our food to us than other Mexicanrestaurants. We went for lunch but had to order pff the dinner menu..

Maynardo is the best! I've known him for 14 years back when he was at El Puerto (closed now). Always the best service and the food is muy bien!

The tacos al pastor were on point . The service was great as well. My server was always there asking me if food was good or if I needed anything else. Would definitely go back. Would recommend going back
