El Mercado - Market - Butcher - Empanadas

LOVE this store. stopped in to get aji amarillo and aji panca to make a recipe and we just had to try their empanadas. SENSATIONAL. they are so good you scarf them down. really fresh, too, and lots of flavors — including a couple vegetarian flavors. the baked ones are so flaky too, such tender pastry. they had lots of other grocery items — stop in for hard to find south american ingredients.

I CAN’T GET ENOUGH of their fried empanadas OMG, who even has eggplant? Awesome selection GET CHIMICHURRI // CASH ONLY

(cash only shop) Mmmm their empanadas were really good, the beef one and the cheese and pepperoni were amazing. So flavorful the beef empanada. 2 empanadas though come up to being 6.50.

I tried the sweet beef empanada and the spinach empanada. The lady working behind the counter was very sweet and helpful. I wanted to try it before, but I didn’t have cash, so I made sure to come by when I did. Three dollars for a fresh empanada, and I get to support local business instead of a chain!
