My dress was okay. She gave everyone soda/water in glass but for me gave me a can soda (without glass). Also, i ordered corn tortilla but gave me flour tortilla. For bill, she gave me a receipt paper, whereas for all others they gave bills inside the hardcover with pen. She jugded a customer with their dress.
Great food
Owner the Daniel is a great host. Try the Carne Asada tacquitos, Tacos El Pastor and the Barbacoa tacquitos the are excellent. If you like authenic Mexican food El Jacalito is the place to be in Austin then visit one of South Austin's jewels. This ole school restaurant is one of the very few that actually has original dishes like calabacitas and fideo. My favorite breakfast tacos (Mexican Chorizo and refried beans.) Equally excellent lunch prices and lunch specials with very low cost and quick to eat. Great customer service.
The food was good and the horchata was SO good! The location is a little sketchy. It's in a rough neighborhood. The drinks were pretty pricey and this was regular drinks like lemonade and horchata which ended up costing us about $20 for 4 drinks.
The fajitas were tasty. Have been going for quite some time now. The service is always great!
Double check your tickets. Margarita was decent, food was okay.
This was the worst TexMex food I have ever eaten. Bland with no flavor. Even the iced tea had no taste. The refried beans tasted burned. The cheese enchilada had hard and unmelted cheese. No flavor. The chips were crisp and delicious and the hot sauce was very good. My friend who took me for my birthday remembered it as as excellent.
They have VERY NICE service & food!
Clean but old looking on the inside. $$ Horchata was good but very thick for my liking. If you like strong coffee, this is the place for you. Chorizo and egg taco was American style, yummy. Potatoes were cooked just right. Nothing special about the place or the food. Okay service, however no one speaks English. Might go back to try dinner menu. Might recommend after we try dinner. Was not a great experience though.
Older restaurant , previous name was La Reyna with previous owner. I went during my lunch and it was fast and quick and the food was hot and quite tasty. Great place to have a quick lunch
