Dame Veneno

I went there with my daughter because she loves Mexican food from Los Angeles. We went early in the morning but sadly the "carnitas" were not ready. My daughter had the chilaquiles plate and they were just ok. I had the machaca plate which was not anything to rave about. The food is ok, the prices a bit high but the atmosphere was nice. It's probably a better place for dinner and drinks.

First time eating here. I felt welcomed and appreciated as a customer. I ordered the chilaquiles rojos without eggs or meat (although the ribeye beef as an extra sounded most tempting--maybe next time). For me, the flavors of the chilaquiles, refried beans, and pan-roasted potatoes balanced nicely. The sauce was spicy enough to be interesting without being fiery, and the portion size was perfect--not too much or too little. I had the Jamaica to go with it, and I liked it too--rich flavor and not overly-sweetened. Our waitress, Amanda, was attentive and patient and had good knowledge of whichever menu items we asked about. Although there is a small parking lot next to the restaurant, parking is generally limited in this area, so be prepared to walk a bit if the lot is full. (Coincidentally, El Gallo is a fine, long-established bakery across the street for those who'd like to take some real treats home.) Overall, a very nice experience, and I would recommend Dame Veneno for anyone looking for a good place to enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Great place to eat Mexican food. The place was very cozy and nice patio dining. I definitely recommend to eat here. Waitress was very helpful.

Exelente Sabor y muy buena variedad de Platillos

Great little restaurant! Clean, generous portions, good ambiance, and great grilled food with fresh sides and delicious, toasted bolillo rolls for the tortas. We were meeting old friends for lunch and my husband knew El Gallo Grill from growing up in the neighborhood. It was good to see it is still serving the community. And Jesus did an amazing job as the "everything" man. Give him a raise!
