Food was great. Great service. Freddy was the best server we've had in years. Made the entire experience that much better.
We have come to the downtown El Fenix for over 50 years. Domingo is our favorite and only waiter. He always knows what we want and fulfills. Don’t change anything except maybe some new cushions for the chairs. See you next week. Dean & Brenda Ferrell
Do not park your car or pickup in there parking lot. My truck was stolen in the parking lot. They have cameras but El Fénix will not release it. Dallas PD wouldn’t come out they sent me a text to make the police report. We had to drive to the police station.. DO NOT Park your vehicles in the parking lot. Officer said they have a lot of vehicles stolen from the parking lot.
BEWARE They are running a parking scam in the El Fenix parking lot. $95 FINE to park in their lot. Been eating there over 40 years but never again.
We stopped for a quick snack after visiting the Perot museum, which is less than a block away. We were pleasantly rewarded. Classic Tex mex that had understated quality. It starts with the light crisp tortilla chips that is a standout star by itself. The quesadillas and enchiladas had a well seasoned taste and mouth feel that reflects the emphasis of using higher quality cheeses & meats. I’m looking forward to try more of the large menu varieties in the future. Parking: Paid parking to side & back of restaurant. Street parking is metered with limited number of spots.
Food was ok. Had the Fenix burger. Well served, hot fresh. I believe they used a traditional frozen patty but it was a good size and tasted ok. Stayed away from the Mexican food. Those of you who know me, know the expectation past the checkpoint isn't very high so I usually stay away from Mexican food. Service was excellent, ambiance was nice.
