I had been to El Chinchorro when it first opened, and my experience was wonderful ... sadly that was not my experience today and I don't plan on ever returning. Today, I ordered 4 alcapurrias and a side of arroz con gandules. Despite being informed that the alcapurrias would take 10 minutes, I was willing to wait for a delicious meal. Unfortunately, my patience was tested as the wait extended to 16 minutes. Nevertheless, the server handed me my order with an apology, and I thanked them before leaving. Upon arriving home and eagerly opening the bag, I was disappointed to find only 2 alcapurrias. I promptly called El Chinchorro, explaining that they had missed 2 items from my order. The woman on the phone was apologetic and assured me they would have the missing items ready for me when I returned. I drove back to the restaurant and informed them that I was here for the missing alcapurrias. To my dismay, I was told there would be an additional wait. Frustrated at this point, I decided to forgo the additional wait and requested a refund instead. The server went to the register but informed me that they had no cash on hand and suggested a Venmo refund. I explained that I didn't have Venmo and asked for a cash refund, only to be told they had no money available. Thankfully, one of the employees stepped in, provided the cash, and allowed me to leave. Finally settling down to enjoy my meal, I found that the alcapurrias were disappointingly greasy, and the meat filling lacked seasoning. Adding to my disappointment, the arroz con gandules had become cold during the extended wait times. Overall, the food was underwhelming and lacked the flavorful seasoning I had hoped for, leaving it far from spectacular. This dining experience was marred by extended waits, missing items, and unsatisfactory food quality.

First time here, I have found my new favorite restaurant. The Cuban sandwich is the best made this side of Cuba. Will tell everyone I know about this restaurant.

Great service !!! Made us feel at home !! The food was delicious and authentic Puerto Rican favorite.
