The food was amazing and the prices were reasonable.

I loved my enchiladas. The service was very attentive, and our food was fast. The restaurant was beautiful. Parking: We found a nice shady spot out of the sun.

I was very disappointed when I ate here last week. This restaurant chain had a lot of sentimental value for me, we came here with my grandparents when visiting them in Tucson. They are now too old to eat out, but when we saw them I mentioned we were going to El Charro. My grandfather in particular loved it for their enchiladas suizas. He said it had gone downhill and didn’t recommend going. We went anyway, and he was right. The decor/ambiance is much different. It feels more cheesy/hokey than upscale Mexican cuisine. I didn’t see the enchiladas suizas, and the beef birria tacos were really bland. The corn tortillas appeared to still be homemade and were really good, but the rest of the tacos lacked flavor. Bad choice to order them. Cadillac margarita was not good, should’ve ordered something else. That’s sad to say that you should t order a margarita here. Our waitress was very good, attentive and polite. I left feeling as though my grandfather was correct, and realized an era had passed. In today’s restaurant scene you can’t put out tacos like that be competitive anymore. We work hard for our money too, if I’m going to pay top dollar for your food, then the tacos better knock my socks off.

This place is iconic for Tucson. Not only can you get some GREAT Tres Leches Cake, but their chimis are pretty amazing. They're truly Sonoran with a perfect balance of meat to the other stuff. I get mine elegante style, with all the toppings. Go for lunch or dinner. You won't regret it!

Sat down and waited over 10 minutes. No one came up and asked us for our drink and food orders. The staff wasn't very friendly

Excellent food, beverages and service. Great atmosphere, and the food doesn’t take too long…we are always pleased here!

Disappointed, they sit you, 10- mins passes and still nothing (no service) gets chips and salsa dropped off to our table, Yet still no waiter to take our order much less our drinks at least.
