El Cantaro Vegan Taqueria

This was our first visit to El Cantero. I wanted to come here because it’s a fully vegan taqueria. It’s a nice little restaurant and it became full of customers just as we were getting our meal. While I enjoyed the food (mostly) my husband did not. I’m not a fan of meat substitutes and most of the menu items had this in many forms. The food is quite expensive, so we split the Combo #1 and ordered a side of rice and beans. The combo consisted of an enchilada (the size of a street taco), a tiny taquito, a crispy potato taco (also the size of a street taco. The potatoes were mashed and there was only about 2 tablespoons of potato in the taco) and rice and beans. I liked both the pinto and black beans and the rice was very tasty. Neither of us cared for the taste of the cheese and sour cream. Even with splitting a combo and not ordering beverages the bill came to $33.45. We will not be returning.

Super cute little taqueria where vegans can come have tacos with no worries! So many plant-based options ranging from chik'n to steak, taquitos to soft tacos, juices and smoothies to bottled drinks. Chips and salsa came before the meal and our tacos were delivered. I was so happy to finally have vegan tacos! I'm visiting from out of state and it's rare to find fully vegan taco places in Phoenix. The hot salsa had a kick to it and the crunchy steak tacos were a great consistency, but I preferred the chicken filling. Place was semi small, one lady running the whole front of house, but nothing to complain about. Would recommend for sure and would love to come back when in town again!

The best vegan mexican food in Sacramento. Some of the best Mexican food straight up. Vegetarian options: Everything Parking: Tight parking lot.

Food is on the spicy side, but the Quesabirria is not to be missed. Flavors are amazing. The Horchata was welcome!

Hands down, the best vegan Mexican food in the Sacramento area. This is my favorite restaurant to go to, literally everything I've ordered has been delicious! I've tried several burritos, most of the tacos, enchiladas, tortas, and specialty plates - ALL of them have been GREAT. Vegetarian options: El Cantaro is 100% vegan. Parking: Plenty of parking. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, no child menu Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible to wheelchair users

This food is AMAZING!!! The queso barria makes me want to weep with joy. I also super love the taquitos. I want to try everything on the menu. Sacramento is so lucky to have El Cantaro. The only things about them that makes me sad are 1) they’re not closer to Roseville and 2) they don’t have outdoor seating. If you are wondering if you should give them a try, DO IT!!! PS Yes, their Friday and Saturday hours are inconvenient. Just deal with it.

Clean and good locale but I'm not into the alternative meat and if you don't have chimichangas then it sucks

Absolutely amazing food. So glad to have this gem in sacramento. Do yourself a favor and go!

20 bucks for a combination plate......no regrets.
