After returning to Detroit from the vibrant streets of Mexico, where the sun always shines, I found solace in the comforting embrace of El Brazon. Tucked away amidst the gray and cold skies, this gem of a restaurant beckoned me with promises of authentic Mexican flavors. Navigating through the inconspicuous rear entrance from the parking lot, we found ourselves welcomed into a cozy interior. While reservations are advisable, we managed to secure a table for two without much delay. Although the decor leaned towards simplicity, it served as a stark contrast to the explosion of flavors awaiting us in the dishes. Opting for indoor seating over the covered outdoor area, we were promptly attended to by the bustling staff. Their efficiency ensured that our dining experience was not only swift but also filled with warmth and hospitality. We indulged in a shared salad followed by a traditional Mexican dish, both of which exceeded our expectations in terms of taste and authenticity. Remarkably, within a mere 45 minutes, we had savored every bite and found ourselves reluctantly bidding farewell to El Brazon. Its convenient parking and secure location offered a sense of ease, distinct from the hustle and bustle of downtown Detroit—a factor that drew us to this hidden culinary haven. In conclusion, for a taste of Mexico without leaving the comfort of Detroit, I wholeheartedly recommend El Brazon. From its delectable cuisine to its efficient service and cozy ambiance, it is a dining experience worth savoring time and time again.

I would definitely come back for the food, but then again, I knew the food would be good because this is the sister restaurant to La Noria Bistro, which I fancy quite a bit. The two restaurants share some menu items, and while I like the ambience a little more at La Noria, I enjoyed my experience at El Barzon. As far as for goes, I recommend the chorizo and cheese appetizer to eat with the complimentary chips. Their homemade pasta is scrumptious, and the sauces outstanding. A friend had veal scallopini and said it was wonderful. Another friend had enchiladas suizas and said it was slightly spicy, but not uncomfortably so, and delicious. Someone else mentioned that the clams are good. They also have a large wine list and decent cocktail choices. The dining room is fairly small and nice. It looks like they have a nice patio for warmer months. The bathrooms are clean. We had a reservation for 15 people at 5 p.m. We got our main courses at 6:25. We had to eat in a hurry because we had a 7:30 show about 15 minutes from the restaurant. Then we had to wait to pay. If you go with a big party, they won't split the check so ask for your bill early if you're in a rush. It takes a considerable amount of time for them to ring everyone up this way. Perhaps it's to keep tipping fair when wait staff splits a table. I'm not sure, but I know it's inconvenient and time-consuming for both the patrons and the wait staff. Everyone who waited on us was friendly and professional though, and they did their best. Whatever you order, I'm sure you'll enjoy it, and you'll be treated well by the staff, so give them a try! Parking: There's a lot across from La Noria and behind El Barzon.

We visited on valentine's day, the dinner was amazing. Food is great but only limited selection for vegetarian folks. The service was slow, not sure if that's because of the occasion-valentine's dinner but overall a good experience
