El Alma South

We were seated quickly. Chips & salsa very tasty. Their guacamole was chunky with a delicious crema , tomatoes, and roasted sunflower seeds.We had enchiladas pollo with mole verde-chicken was moist with enough kick to let you know they used fresh peppers! The mole was so full of flavor! We splurged on Tres Leches to share for dessert. Our server was top notch.

Holy smokes! El Alma south is soooo good. Very authentic Mexican flavors with an elevated flavor.

The food is soo delicious. The wait staff is the nicest you'll ever meet. However, the restaurant itself was almost too loud to be able to enjoy the rest of my meal. The noise was deafening. There used to be a wall in this building but it seems to have been removed. I would order again but if the restaurant has alot of people in it, I'll just go somewhere else or order to go/delivery.

Happy Hour every day from 3-6pm! New location, same great food. Drinks are fantastic, food is great. Feels and tastes like the old El Alma location on South 1st. Definitely worth stopping in for a frozen margarita and some tacos. So tasty! Parking: So much parking. Pretty rare in Austin.

Alex, bar server, was INCREDIBLE! There was a shortage of staff, but if I may say, I’ve NEVER seen management move so quick to accommodate our reservation. Ash, we thank you for your kindness and for your genuine heart. Alex, thanks for the laughs and attentiveness! We ENJOYED our dinner!

(Always experience restaurants for yourself rather than judging it right away for their reviews) First time at El Alma, went after work & made it during happy hour 3-6PM! I got the mango margarita, gotta say I wasn’t expecting to taste the tequila but it is there! Just so you know “HH” means “Happy hour”, anything with that is included during that time. I ordered the tinga mole verde enchiladas, with the chayote slaw salad, at first I was thinking the white rice should have more flavor( it has subtle flavor). My bf & I thought it’s a good idea that it’s made that way bc you get to really enjoy/taste the flavor of the main dish. We’re the type to go to our favorite little Mexican restaurant, but El Alma has changed the way we think about cuisine! The flavors are vibrant/bold. Our waiter was so kind I don’t know his name, but if you go & get someone that makes you feel like you’re in heaven singing “aahh” when you’re order comes out you won’t be disappointed. Also, ordered the arroz con leche limited time desert which was tasty! Especially the blueberry sauce. We’ll be go back to try the brunch menu soon!
