They failed to simply put egg on my bagel. Can’t be that hard.

Lack of empathy from employees to customers. I was at the restaurant having breakfast with my family, and at the register there was a lady claiming that there was a problem with her meal and I saw the employee's disregard for the customer. And it was no different with me, they treat you anyway, they have no sympathy. I won't go back, I felt humiliated and poorly treated in this place.

The food is good, like in other units, but the service in this unit is terrible, the employees seem to be doing favors instead of working. In this unit, the employees are rude, they don't smile and much less are they charismatic towards the customer. I don't recommend it and I won't be back!

I would like to give feedback on your Mission Valley Location. I walked in around 12:20pm and the location closes at two on Sunday. Found all the inside tables and chairs packed up and closed up on a rainy day. Was welcomed by a young lady cleaning and taking care of trash. Stood by the counter while two other associates continued their conversation. After a couple minutes one lady finally acknowledged me and took my order. When I got the bagels I went over to pay while a different young lady rung me up. During the middle of the transaction she walked away and disappeared into the back. Mind you she did not say anything. I waited as my card went through. I stood their confused as I never got my receipt or any kind of acknowledgement once the transaction was done. I would challenge the manager at the location to look at your closing crew as they all don't want to be their and want to leave asap. All except the young lady doing the trash duty, as she was the only welcoming one.

Bottom line: Toasted bagels with schmear and a couple of drip container dark roast coffees should be the easy-peasy mainstream stuff here. It is not. Be prepared to wait (and please be patient with the wonderful baristas here). What happened to the schmear? I've been going to Einstein's for ages (when it was, on the west coast, called Noah's). It used to be that you basically got a cream cheese sandwich when getting a very basic toasted bagel and schmear [aside: there is no more "light schmear" to be had. It's gone from the menu]. At least a quarter-inch on each half. My bagel had a smattering of thin cream cheese (pictured). My spouse's bagel looked like they started to put on cream cheese then thought it was supposed to be without--it was barely there. Coffee was a bit of a fiasco too. We ordered basic drip coffee, from a pre-made self-serve carafe, but they were out of dark roast plenty of vanilla-hazelnut and medium roast, with secondary carafes waiting. We got the attention of the clearly overworked barista to make another giant pot. Half & half was out as was the milk and there were no other options without having to bother the barista again. Oddly, there were eight other people attending to the food items, speedy service there, but the coffee service was depending on this one clearly overworked barista. The barista was managing many tasks at once, handily and not outwardly overwhelmed, but clearly the beverage area is the major bottleneck in this operation. Surge management, distribution of labor and cross-training are clearly lacking.

For some reason this location has the worst bagels. I’ve been a longtime bagel consumer and this location has always been my go to. In the last year I’ve been increasingly disappointed!! My biggest concern is that it seems like they have either missed a step in the process or are not using the same recipe!!?? Bagels there lately are NOT what you would expect from a bagel, from their bagels! No shinny crust and no soft chew on the inside . Lately they are no better than a slice of bread, and not even good bread. Too fluffy, giant and definitely missing that chew you expect from a well made bagel. Have had better success at a different location.
