Used to be one of my absolute favorite places to get late night snacks. Lately every time I call to order pickup I’m put on hold for 10+ minutes and nobody comes back. Last time I called to place an order for pickup, I was on hold for 10 minutes before I used someone else’s phone to call. I was still on hold on my phone while placing an order on my friend’s phone that was answered immediately. It just goes to show that leaving customers on hold is a reoccurring and inequitable process. Today I hung up and called back and the person who answered the phone was extremely rude and told me to order online that they wouldn’t take my order over the phone. I explained that I wanted to pay cash, and ordering online costs more, but I guess cash is no good here unless you’re ordering in person. When I got there, there were 7 or 8 workers at the counter, three of them just watching the others work! The three workers had walked past me numerous times and didn’t pay me any attention, they had time to walk to the back to have a laugh though! I also had asked about the phone situation when I got there to pickup my order that I had to make online. I was basically told it was my fault and they’re not allowed to take phone orders anymore! (You should probably take the phone number offline then, you might also lose your older customer base that don’t use internet!) The workers were very argumentative and when I’d expressed that this wasn’t my first instance where this has happened with the long wait on the phone with nobody coming back they had no response! It’s really sad to see such a great staple of the neighborhood plummeting downhill! This is probably going to be my last trip here and I typically come once a week. The ice cream is great, but it isn’t worth the headache and being treated like you don’t matter as a customer.

We’d visit this Forest Avenue location every now and then and would be assisted by a young lady. Today however, I had experienced the worst kind of customer service from the manager who seemed to had an issue dealing with people. She is rude and unwelcoming, very uninterested in responding to questions, like if I can get 3 flavors in a pint, and overall lack the ability to interact. There was no other customer waiting behind me and that whole time standing in front of her really tested my patience. It was upsetting! I ended up leaving without my order for I felt racially profiled. If this manager is not related to the owner, then she should consider sending her in the back office and not deal with customers. I know my money will not put a dent on Eggers’ business but this kind of service is greatly impacting its reputation. This store should supposedly bring fun memories and not stressful, aggravating situation like what I had.

Great ice cream. They even have some non-dairy options if you’re interested in that. Fun atmosphere for a family gathering. Dietary restrictions: The chocolate vegan milk shake is delicious.

Wow! I just received the worst customer service ever. The owner/manager should quit and retire, as she is a rude and a unwelcoming human being. When I placed my order I was scolded because I didn’t stand in front of the counter to order, I ordered 2 scoops of ice with an espresso shot and her response was we don’t make that here. Keep in mind that I am a regular and have enjoyed that there plenty of times before. She was dismissive and un-welcoming. I’m pretty sure I was racially profiled, because of my appearance rather than being treated like the loyal customer that I have been. The customer service here is horrible, I highly recommend not taking your family here or large parties for that matter. Edgar’s does not value there customers, and doesn’t care because of the lack of competition. Their ice cream is sub-par, so if you don’t want to experience inequality stay away. We will never go there or bring any of our teams back. Very disappointing Edgar’s!
