Une super ambiance, de la musique, un dîner typique. Un turnover rapide avec seulement 45 min sur place « autorisées », mais le service est rapide et agréable. Les plats sont copieux et très bon marché.
One of those local gems. Sweetest people working there. Great prices in a neighborhood where a budget meal is hard to find. Signed in just to give them the props they deserve!
The owner of this establishment was very rude. He did not even let us finish our order before yelling about a $5 minimum order per person and saying that “this is a business and they need to make money”. He then walked away in the middle of the conversation. His wife came over a few minutes later and calmly took our order. Food was alright and was reasonably priced but I wouldn’t return.
I see a pattern of these reviews and the same thing happened to a friend and I: It was early morning and I was meeting my friend for a sit down coffee and the cafe was half empty, we ordered coffee and French toast and the owner was extremely rude and almost shouted at us saying “Is that it? I’m running a business, I can’t have a order costing lower than McDonalds” and then he proceeded to add a $5 to our bill. He also kept staring at us rudely waiting for us to leave. The business part I get the point but here’s the thing : a. There’s no waiting outside ; b. There’s no mention of a minimum to the order (and mind you, we had already billed for 2 coffees and a French toast) ; c. To get your point across you don’t need to be hostile and arrogant. I do not recommend this place atall.
Great food, great music. I would definitely be a regular if I lived in the area
I came into this place because I have been photographing diners throughout Canada and the U.S. for several years (93 diners so far in over 20 cities). Since I had already eaten a bit earlier I just wanted a coffee. It was lunch time but I wanted to sit at the counter, where there was only one other person sitting at one of the ten or so stools. There was no mention of spending minimums posted anywhere. Both of the owners told me to go down the street to the coffee place, since it was quickly ramping up to the point of hostility I decided to leave. Of all the 93 diners I have taken photos of and in so far this is only the third where I got a hostile reception...
Diner experience in a hole in the wall place on Divis. The waffles were so yummy with fruit on top Wheelchair accessibility: It says wheelchair accessible but damn, there's not many places you would be comfortable. I don't know if a motorized one would even fit through the entryway.
