I like this place that I discovered while exploring Oakland. The restroom is clean and the coffee is amazing. I ordered a Dirty Chai Latte which was delicious. Fortunately, they had lactose-free milk available for the coffee. When I asked for a phone charger, one of the baristas kindly brought it to me with a smile. The music wasn't too loud so it was great for studying. I also took some photos and enjoyed the view of downtown while sipping my coffee.
Binta the owner makes the best lattes! She's super friendly and cares deeply for Oakland. I love going in and seeing her, it brightens my day.
Cute coffee shop in the middle of Oakland to study at
Just spent 10 bucks after the suggested tip on a sesame latte and had my mouth burned by the scalding hot temp of my drink. If I’m going to spend ten bucks on a drink, pls offer it at a drinkable temp.
I enjoyed my latte and the server was kind and friendly. Inside is clean and well lit. They were out of most of their flavored syrups. They also had no pastries. Wifi is fast. (96.2 download/166.1 mbps upload) Nice place to work. If you need something to eat there’s Jimmy’s Deli across the street.
Just super disorganized. Been there 3 times. First time was great! I got a blackberry latte and it was delicious. So I went back a second time and I didn’t realize until I got home that the guy made me the wrong drink (like some egg nog instead of a blackberry latte lmao). The third time was the most frustrating. Blackberry lattes were no longer an option, so I got a regular latte. Took 30 minutes to finally get my drink with the barista constantly chatting up her friends instead of focusing on customers. She was so distracted that she gave my drink to the wrong person and we had to start all over again. The girl working this third time was nice and means well I think, but it just feels like they haven’t quite figured out how to run a clean, professional coffee shop. Kind of like a kids lemonade stand. They miss the mark on the very basics. Save yourself the headache and go to Awaken Cafe next door imo.
Great atmosphere but need to train your baristas- I will never return. Literally have no idea what a Cortado is. Never paid that much for a drink that the person literally had no idea what the were doing. Ridiculous. I asked him how he made the drink- definitely not a Cortado Do not go to this place
