Chowder was good sourdough bread always good & warm. Fish/ chips piping hot just I like! Cocktails Aren’t good, since they don’t know how to make the classics. Who doesn’t put mint leaves in a mojito? You can tell they are watered down cocktails and mixers. I’m sure it’s for the profit margins. The Dukes on Fairview is much better!
Duke's did not disappoint. We stopped by on a late Thursday evening and were promptly seated and greeted by Addison who made the best dirty martini and blueberry lemon drop. We had the stuffed and puffed prawns and cioppino which were excellent. I'll be back the next time I'm in Seattle.
We ordered calamari and crab dip from the happy hour appetizer menu...both delicious and a good amount. Also had the Basil Pesto Salmon that was delicious.. Great service and easy street parking.. l
Everything had really good flavor, delicious. The portions were a little small, but I'm a country boy too. The service was very good. All in all, I'll be back. Parking: Very limited, all parallel parking so you'll end up down the street a ways if you get there during rush.
They take pride in their food and how they source it. They strive for fine dining tiered service and value their guests more than anything. The specials change regularly so if you become a regular you won’t get bored but they have some staples that are everyday worthy as well.
My partner and I recently purchased a home in Green Lake and Duke's is just a short walk from our new home. We decided to take some of our friends there who were visiting from out of the country. This was our first time to Duke's and it was good, but I thought the food was more of a novelty than high-quality seafood. I just felt that prawns and scallops on a skewer were somewhat outdated an unimaginative. Other than that, the chowder is always great. I have to say, the service was not that great. We sat on the patio and felt very much forgotten about. Our waters were empty a majority of the time and wait staff seemed to not look in our direction to flag them down. I have to say, I was surprised. The atmosphere can't be beat. It's about a block away from Green Lake and the trails. It's a great spot to sit and people watch on a sunny, warm day if you sit on the patio. When you visit Seattle or if you haven't been, you've got to go just to say you've been to Duke's. I'd go in understanding that it's a little over-hyped with the food, but the atmosphere is great.
I was famished, and since I'm visiting the Pacific Northwest, I decided to have seafood! This menu looked good, and I was craving salmon, so I gave this place a try. I ordered the clam chowder, fresh basil pesto salmon, and the grab your bibb Dungeness crab salad. Everything from the presentation, flavor, and ratio was excellent! The crab salad was great, and the salad dressing paired with the salad toed everything together. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the basil was jam-packed with flavor. Even the potatoes were perfectly crispy! The clam chowder soup was delicious, and even when I had a bite, it sent me to food heaven. I only wish I could have ordered another one! All in all, it was a great meal that was filling and satisfying!
