Really good meal after a show.
Great food. I got the medium lamb and beef burger, amazing taste and quality. Simple but sooooo delicious. Calamari was also a favorite. Olive tapenade and calamari combination was so flavorful. Octopus salad was too acidic for me. I added salt and olive oil and it became amazing. Lastly, chocolate pot de cream was to die for. Everything was so good. Drinks are amazing. Bar tender was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was good for anything.
Food was decent, but we left with a bad taste in our mouth over an added charge that felt deceitful. We ordered the "MORCILLA y SETAS" (which was delicious) - essentially ground blood sausage and mushroom to be eaten with grilled sourdough toasts (3). When we were half way through, the server asked us if we would like some more bread. We said, "sure." At the end of our meal, we see a $6 charge for additional bread. Two problems here: First, of course we didn't assume there would be an additional charge from the way he asked us (offered), and we would not have ordered it had he told us that three tiny pieces of bread would be $6. So it felt pretty sneaky and nickel and dimey. Second, if a chef designs a dish to be eaten a certain way, spread on toast, give the diner enough toast to accommodate. It's not like we were gorging ourselves on these toasts.
The shrimp fideo paella is delicious! We asked for extra shrimp instead of chicken.
We were here for dinner before a show last night. We were one of the only tables being seated when we arrived. Drinks and appetizers were great. We ordered two paellas. The waiter asked us what time we needed to leave and we told him 6:45. At 6:50 one arrived. At 7:05 we asked him where the other was and he said it was coming. At 7:15 we asked him to go check and he came back saying it was not coming at all!!! I’ve never been to a restaurant where they just didn’t have your order and people left hungry!!!
We had the paella which was absolutely fantastic (speaking as a non-Spanish person)! The paella is enough for two people, so take care to not order one per head. It also takes half an hour to prepare so brace yourself for a little bit of a wait if you want to get it, which you absolutely must!
