I was so looking forward to this place because I'm new to the area and coworkers had said it was one of the best bbq places in town. For what I got I paid way to much. Spent $15 on it, and I couldn't finish it as it was so unappetizing. In a nutshell the Dreamland BBQ sauce doesn't actually taste like BBQ sauce, the pork was very chewy and dry. The boneless rib tips were presented more as a gravy with 5 chewy jerky bits in it, and was reminisce of wet dog food. With less liquid and more actual meat, it would be better. No one is more disappointed than I am as I hoped to experience the excitement my friends had. Now I wonder about my friends taste in restaurants.
This was the worst BBQ I have ever eaten. I ordered a chopped pork sandwich with house chips. I got a pile of dry, unseasoned pork with no sauce, on a dry bun. The chips were burnt. Before the meal they brought slices of store bought plain white bread with "BBQ sauce" to dip. As for the sauce, it was spicy and tangy but nothing else. Very unbalanced. No sweetness to cut the acid at all. My wife got the rib tips and what came looked like someone had diarrhea on the plate. It was more like a meat soup than a plate of rib tips. The meat was as tough and chewy as beef jerky. The same sauce was used on everything. Very one note flavors. The only things that were good was the coke and the cole slaw. I'm not sure but the slaw may have also been store bought. The mac and cheese was disgusting. We spent $35 for a meal that tasted sub par and looked like dog vomit. We will not be back.
The two servers, Angie and Jana, were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I initially ordered the boneless rib tips, but when my order arrived, it looked more like pulled pork. Angie took the time to explain the difference between the two dishes, stating that the rib tips are slow-roasted in barbecue sauce while offering me a sample of the pulled pork. Her explanation and sample allowed me to make an informed decision and ultimately enjoy my meal. This level of customer service and attention to detail is hard to find and greatly appreciated. Best regards, Shirley
I ordered. The pull pork plate with fried okra and the baked beans. It was delicious! I like the white bread with the bbq sauce also. I had great customer service from my server Braxton. Great conversation about Bama football. I never had to ask for a refill or anything else. I will definitely ask for Braxton the next time I come in!! RTR
Pork sandwich was just ok nothing to write home about. Service was poor and not welcoming. Sides were not equal in portion between plates. You must pay to park a vehicle. Overall I won’t be back not worth it.
