I ordered the Seafood combo of scallops, shrimp and fish with vegetables. I haven't had anything that tasted that bad in many years. The fish was mushy and I wasn't even sure what it was and the scallops were tiny bay scallops. If I had known it was in the dish I would have ordered something else. The only thing that was mediocre was the shrimp and broccoli. I recommend that you avoid this dish. It was awful!
I tried the best noodles there. The best restaurant in our area. Highly recommend.
Parking: KEEP UP THE NICE SERVICE!!
Food is great, and a good value. To Go Only. Only problem is No Parking... ever. I wish the owner of the property would change the layout of the parking spaces to be at a diagonal. That way, people can enter off Vanowen heading West Bound, and park nose in. Then when they leave, backing out is diagonal to the storefronts, and they exit the lot facing West. As it is right now, there's a huge sign pole that EVERYONE hits when they pull in trying to park perpendicular to the storefronts, AND hit the sign pole when they back out. Bad game of Tetris. Anyways, for price and value, this is one of the better Chinese To Go spots in Canoga Park, Woodland Hills. Favorites of mine are Orange Chicken and Moo Shoo. The Fried Fish (get the sauce on the side) is out of this world! It's crispy, crunchy, and very tasty. If you get it already mixed with the sauce, by the time you get home it's just one big soggy mess. So please come and do yourself a favor, get the sauce on the side. They do have all of your old, classic dishes as well like beef and broccoli, Mongolian beef, war wonton, and classic wonton soup. Prices are great, very affordable. You do get a good amount of everything as well.
I ordered the orange chicken lunch special (L7 I believe). It was orange chicken, fried rice or white rice, a soup option, an egg roll, and two wonton chips. I also ordered crab meat rangoon…total paid $20.10. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. The crab meat rangoon was good but a little skimpy on the feeling and the sweet n sour sauce was pretty tasty. I didn’t try the soup but my husband said the flower soup was better than the hot sour soup. The fried rice was very bland. I’m used to fried rice with carrots, peas, and onions. I asked if I could add shrimp but was told that I would have to purchase shrimp fried rice separately. It didn’t bother me but just informing whoever wants to know. I don’t really like Chinese food anymore but overall, the food was good. Parking: Parking can be difficult depending on the day. It’s a small parking lot for multiple businesses.
The sesame chicken and veggie chow mein were good, but the yu hsiong chicken and egg rolls were lacking. The egg rolls were actually spring rolls and were okay. They seem to promote having New York style Chinese takeout, but it was not that. Pretty typical LA Chinese takeout to be honest, which is to say too greasy, too sugary, and too expensive. That said they seemed popular so I guess most locals like it. Sketchy parking lot with a grimy liquor store and junkies nodding about were not appealing, not the restaurants fault, but use that info as you will. Oh boy do I miss real East Coast takeout, and this didn't do it for me. Might order again, we'll see.
