Downwind Restaurant and Lounge

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. I always enjoy going here, especially to sit outside, watch planes, and have a beer. They don't have a lot of good options, but there is always one that's good enough.The food is alright, a mix of bar food and nicer food, and always good. Just now I had fish and chips and my wife had a chicken salad, they were good, and the kids had chicken fingers and a hot dog, all good. We'll come back soon enough I'm sure.

I’ve never heard of this nor was there any mention of it on menu or from waiter. There was less than 1 cherry tomato and 4-5 slivers of shredded cheese. Food tasted bad as well. Instead of downwind it’s down hill. We won’t be back. Ps the food also tasted nasty. I barely ate any leaving it. Told waiter no to taking home for later. The place also seemed dirty to me. should have been a sign but used to really like this place. Too bad it is really bad now. The location is great. Hopefully, they’ll close and a really good restaurant will open up. Note, no elevator so handicapped, beware.

Location Location, Location! ✈️ Can't get any closer to watching planes land and take off. This is such a cute little restaurant with an outstanding experience! We weren't really impressed with the food..

I can't rate the food because we didn't eat, but I look forward to coming back for the BLT. And the crinkle fries looked pretty good. I noticed the entrees were served on cute floral plates. We stopped in to support a friend hosting her first open mic night. The talent was top notch. The atmosphere is low-key and the decor reminds me a bit of what might be found in a young boy's room, but I loved it. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have models of an F-14 and A-10 hanging from my ceiling when I was a kid. We look forward to coming back and hanging out to watch the air traffic. Not an obvious place to find though. When you turn in, follow rhe road all the way back and bare to the left and around the bend. Upstairs, stairs are on the left and then go right. Plenty of parking.

It was a great place to take the family! What fun to watch the coming and going of all the planes.

Love this place. It’s not a Michelin starred restaurant of course, but for better than expected food in a great location, it’s hard to beat. Views of the PDK runway are fun, and on nice days, sitting on the deck is the best.
