Downtowner Restaurante

I've been coming to The Downtowner for breakfast or lunch for years. To where some of them know me by name. The food is always incredible. Two different times, we've had the same waitress. This waitress will bring us our food and that it is it. She never checks back up on us or tops off our beverages. The first time we had her, she sat behind the counter on her phone and chit chatting with one of the other waitresses. The last time, she sat in a booth for at least 20 minutes talking to other patrons. We had to ask someone else to top off our coffee. Service is not the same as it use to be.

I ordered food there two eggs, bacon, toast and potatoes. I won the eggs to be over medium they were overcooked. The bacon was supposed to be flimsy but it was overcooked and looked to be old. If somebody orders eggs or bacon the way they like them that's the way they want them. And you should make it accordingly.

The food was incredible at this little local hole in the wall style diner. I highly recommend the monte christo sandwich in their breakfast menu, it’s on cinnamon toast!

We have enjoyed the Downtowner for many decades, even when it was actually in downtown Lafayette. Today we went in and witnessed a waitress, going to the table, talking on her phone at the table. When I said something to another lady and said that I thought Management should know about it. The woman told me that the lady was Management and we got up and left. I’m not gonna tolerate that kind of rudeness especially when it’s the management doing it. Definitely nothing like it has been in decades past.

Food is typical diner food. Family friendly atmosphere. Good price point for families.

Very tasty meal, friendly and quick service. A Lafayette tradition still going strong!

A great place to have breakfast, with one of the best in town! It is located in a strip mall and there are entrances on the north and south side of the complex with parking on either side. They have a very nice selection of food and it has always been great. They also have very friendly staff and are very kind. Check them out!

Utilitarian diner with an expansive menu, very friendly service, and great prices. Lacks any notable aesthetic, but that's not what matters here. Would highly recommend for a quick, fresh, cheap breakfast.
