Double Knot

We had a group of 9 for a birthday. We had reservations. That's important! We were seated together, but they usually do not do groups over 8. It's small, dark, and a great experience! The group ordered a variety and often shared to experience everything. With drinks, it came to about $54 each. It was worth it. Parking: $24

Food and drinks were only OK. Cool atmosphere and very nice bartenders, though.

It was beyond awesome

Several raw fish dishes were superb. Strangely, all carbohydrates were mushy and gummy (ramen, and RICE--of all things!) BE AWARE: THEY DON'T HONOR THE RESERVATIONS THEY MAKE, AND THEY WANT PEOPLE WITH RESERVATIONS TO BE STUCK WAITING AND DRINKING AT THE BAR (this is perhaps a trend in the Schulsen restaurants in general, because I just read about people having long long waits--despite having a reservation--in another of his establishments). What ruins the whole experience here is that you reserve a table in the downstairs dining area and when you get to the restaurant on time (even 5 minutes early) you are given a bunch of excuses about why it will be "a while" before your table will be ready. You are strongly encouraged to drink at the bar while waiting. We ended up having to eat in the loud noisy "bar area" at a coffee table-height table. So it was an uncomfortable meal all around. We don't appreciate them taking a real reservation and then not managing the restaurant in such a way that they actually honor their reservations.

First thing the food here is amazing and management is on point with concerns and the kitchen manager came out and addressed a concern immediately so they are pretty awesome Waitress didn't do much to explain the menu or anything else really and seemed distracted most of the night so service took a hit in stars for that but over all its an awesome place
