Don't stray from the red sauce.
Entirely non-competative for an Italian restaurant in a 'little Italy ' of the Bronx. First time here on a recommendation by a cousin of the staff. Service was mediocre at best. Not a smile or polite word. Our service was paced well behind others that arrived after us. By 6:00 PM, they were out of several Italian basics like lasagna, chicken caccatore...and even chicken parmigiano. I've had better at pizza restaurants in Jersey. Don't bother.
I was here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon; it was my first visit to Arthur Avenue. The calamari was perfectly fried, the pastas done nicely and the osso bucco special was delicious. The ambience is nice and old school. The waiters were knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. I want to come here every Sunday!
Delicious food and huge portions. Waiters were extremely nice in a family-style sit-down atmosphere. The pasta combo for two is probably large enough to feed four people!
We are coming from Boston in the summer to meet our native New Yorker friends for dinner. cannot wait It will be our first time.
pretty good. loved the vodka penne.
We came to this place many years ago and it was great it was an old Italian guy that would spit out like 3 to 4 different meals what they had now it's not like that anymore I guess the old man passed or whatever and now the food is terrible I had spaghetti with burnt spaghetti sauce that was so much grease that I had agenda and my husband he has a chicken palm that must have sat underneath the heat lamp for hours because it was very dry I waited forever for a soda My recommendations would be go to Mario's Enzo's for Amelia's I'm very surprised since they have fresh fresh ingredients right outside their door in every direction sad how times have changed and this iconic restaurant once was vibrant and had excellent food and service but everything changes
