Tried to place a pickup order on the phone, because the online site was being difficult. When I asked the cashier if I could do a pickup order over the phone because of the online issues she replied with “really?” With an attitude. Complete opposite of customer service.
DOG HAUS, a unique sausage and burger joint, offers a selection of sandwiches, finger foods, and an impressive collection of on tap beers.* Both patio and indoor seating are available. The kitchen is gluten and vegan friendly. Prices are moderate. The eatery serves custom made animal based and vegan sausages and burgers. Their Black Angus beef sandwiches are made of "Creekstone Farms's humanely raised, hormone and antibiotic free beef." Their vegan sandwiches are grilled Beyond Meats burger and spicy sausage. Impossible Foods makes the more hotdog like sausage. The selection of rolls include King's Hawaiian, gluten free, or two vegan buns. A lettuce wrap is offered. French fries, sweet potato fries, as well as, potato tots are served. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. A menu is posted on large panels above the order counter. Your choices are delivered to your table. Restaurant seating includes the bar, high tables, stools, and a few lower tables, stools, and chairs. The low table we selected had a bench on one side and two chairs on the other. Unfortunately, one of the chairs had only three legs and collapsed. No one was injured. The chair was replaced with a low stool. On the suggestion of the hostess, I ordered the Impossible Bratwurst, served on a vegan bun. (Condiments included raw onion, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, and chopped tomato. No pickles or sports peppers were available to complete a Chicago style presentation.) Delivered to our table, my vegan sausage and fries were just warm. My wife's plain beef, hot dog, wrapped in a Hawaiian bun, was also lukewarm, not cool enough to send back, but right on the edge. The servings were generously sized. Free soft drink refills, from the self-service dispenser are included. At least 20 craft beers are dispensed from the bar's beer taps. The large, clean bathrooms and everything else is ADA compatible. Parking is free in their lot. Entrance is on the east side of the eatery. * Dog Haus was founded in Pasadena, California. (2010) There are about 100 locations. Vegetarian options: Sausages, Impossible Burgers, Fries, buns, condiments
