Our afternoon visit to Dockside at the Bahia hotel promised the "picturesque" dining experience next to the bayside marina. However, what we encountered was a series of disappointments that detracted from the stunning view. The service at Dockside was mediocre, and the wait staff seemed nonexistent. We had to get up and look for our server to ask for syrup for the waffles. We also had to search for spoons to stir our coffees. The host was excellent, though; he was very kind and attentive. The food is overpriced for poor quality. The buffet, though initially enticing, was disappointing and concerning on closer inspection. Cold items appeared to languish at room temperature, specifically the jumbo shrimp, raising serious concerns about food safety and suggesting a disregard for basic standards. Two members of my family, including me, got extremely sick after eating here. To add insult to injury, the restaurant imposes a hidden service charge fee, which is not advertised on the website or menu. Save yourself the trouble and seek a better experience elsewhere.

I've lived in San Diego all my life and I cannot believe I've not been here before. I will be back for sure. I loved the seals they have in front of the establishment.

I worked there for a quick shift. The food is good it just takes forever to get. It's expensive but they put the work in and the ingredients are top notch and portions are big. The atmosphere is amazing.

Again I can't say enough about Celeste who served us on several occasions and the food and drinks my favorite is the fire pits
