Do Chay

We stopped here for dinner on our way through Vancouver. We had one of the best meals EVER! We sat at the bar so we got to eat watch the two chefs cook. We started with the truffle dumplings. I had the spicy peanut satay noodles. My husband had the southern style dry noodles (that soft boiled marinated egg!) and my son had the vegan pho. We loved all of the dishes so much. Fresh and flavorful. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, this is your spot, and for meat eaters, I promise you won’t miss the meat! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. If I could give it 6 stars, I would Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan, with the exception of the marinated egg.

Food is meh but the vibes are pretty good. When the place isnt too crowded the service is good, but if it is then servers get busy

With all the positive press this veggie Vietnamese restaurant received, I really thought I was in for a treat, and was looking forward to my dinner reservation. We did try a coconut type tart that was savory and had some veggie ground round on top w some savory sauce. We found that different and pretty good. But the rest was so bland. We have had better almost everywhere else. The tofu, eggplant fell short on flavor as did our noodle dish. We didn't even want to take home the leftovers. The friend I was with expressed the same surprising disappointment. Maybe we didn't try the right dishes? Try for yourself I guess and see what you think. The staff were very nice, as well. They do great vegan food at Chau veggie express and I will go there when I want veggie veitnamese food. They are both walking distance from me.
