Desi Dhaba Indian Restaurant

My wife and I had been meaning to try Desi Dhaba for months and finally stopped in on a whim for a late lunch a few Friday's ago. The food was very, very good and my wife was raving about it! We got Mixed Veggie Pakoda as an appetizer that came with two sauces that were very tasty. The pakoda were fried to perfection! Our meals were Aloo Gobi Masala (vegan) and Chicken Rogan Josh. Both were really good. If you like some heat, ask for medium or more. We didn't specify and both dishes could have been a little spicier for our tastes. I will admit my chicken was a little tough and I'm used to more tender chicken but it didn't take away from the outstandingly complex flavors in the sauce. The service was outstanding and attentive. It was quiet when we got there and got busier as we dined, but the server still constantly checked on us (and even brought more rice for our meals). The restaurant could use a bit more ambiance but that didn't detract from the experience. It used to be a diner, so I expect it will take some effort to get one big room with all those windows to feel more cozy and warm. I hope they do as it would add a lot to the dining-in experience. Also, the bathrooms were newly renovated and immaculate! Desi Dhaba is definitely going to be a go-to option for us for Indian food in the area from now on. We will be back soon and look forward to it!

Parking: Quite area . Not busy . Went for samosa and chai . Samosa were freshly made and good . Chai was stale and cold .

Great food! We got the buttered chicken and garlic naan bread. the sauce was amazing and if I could give service more than five stars I would. Our car broke down and needed a jump start which these guys did for us. This place is amazing with amazing people.

I recently dined at this restaurant with a group of 30 people, and it was a delightful first time experience from start to finish. The service was quite accommodating, especially for the kids. We pre-ordered, and they handled additional requests with promptness. The masala chai was a delightful start. The tandoor dishes, chicken, paneer, and vegetables, were flavorful– not too salty or spicy, just perfectly balanced. North jndian Entree dishes were all flavorful. The staff’s courteous handling of such a large group was commendable. if you're in search of a place offering both good Indian cuisine and good service, I highly recommend this restaurant in Newburgh NY town.
