Deschutes Brewery Portland Public House

Stopped in while doing some shopping. Once you get past the human feces on the street, Downtown Portland isn’t so bad! Seriously though, I love Deschutes beer and this place also has some great food. Pretzel with beer cheese and a pint and you’re good to go. When it comes to Portland: Deschutes good, deschites bad.

Horrible customer service. Do not order the pretzel online for pick up or any take out option unless you want half of an inch of cheese in the sauce cup to use with your pretzel. I went to pick up my order and found barely any cheese to use for my pretzel. I politely asked the host for some more and said they were able to do that this one time. I waited around 5 mins then the manager came out seeming a little annoyed and told me that is the amount of cheese they serve and it will be extra charge for more. Ummm what? I didn’t get any cheese in the first place cause half an inch is nothing. Why is this such a big deal for a manager to come sternly talk to me…about a little more cheese? So I returned my order. Absolutely horrible customer service. I’ve worked in the customer service industry for 4 years and the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Very dramatic situation for no reason. Their food is also mediocre. Do not support this location there are many better options in the area.

Beer flight was extremely good value for money, not to mention delicious, and I would definitely recommend it. Food was a bit more middling and I wasn't so impressed with e.g. the garlic fries (attached) which were a little less crispy/too soggy. Overall a good experience and I'd still say a good time.

Great beer and brew house

Nice big brewery with great beer selection and yummy food. We enjoyed the beer options that are specific to the taphouse. We loved the salad we got.
