I am docking one star due to the customer service I received during my visit. I would honestly probably give them 3-stars, but the flavor of the food was so good that it earned the extra star. I love poke, but live in a place where we don’t have access to it, so I make it a point to try to have it whenever I can. I was so excited to find a place that was gluten free that I had planned my whole day around this meal. I live with a lot of dietary restrictions, so I tend to have a lot of questions. The staff was clearly annoyed at me. I usually experience this, so I tend to brush it off, even though it always hurts because it’s not my fault. I didn’t choose to have dietary restrictions. I was asking questions about their sauces, and ended up just going with the classic because they were clearly not interested in helping me. I then went to the salad selection, and I’m allergic to crab and shrimp. Thus, immediately ruling out the crab salad, spicy crab salad, and Kimchi. I was feeling rushed and I didn’t want to ask any more questions. So since you get three salads I picked octopus and double seaweed. He said something, and then only have me a tiny bit of seaweed salad for the second serving, about half of what he had given me before. I decided I wasn’t being welcome at this establishment so I had to hurry up. I picked my veggies and decided I needed to stop inconveniencing them. I didn’t want any more attitude. I get to the register and I was charged $3 for the extra seaweed salad. I said no, it says there that I could get three salads and that’s all I picked. He informed me that you’re not allowed to do double of anything. I said, I picked three salads like it says. He said I had to pay for it, and that they don’t allow doubles because it messes with inventory. I was flabbergasted at that. Because you’re a restaurant, if you run out, you make more. It also made no sense, I didn’t pick a more expensive salad to double up on. I honestly would have walked out and not paid for any of it if I had a lot of food choices. But, because I don’t have a lot of choices of places eat while I’m traveling I decided it was better to just pay for it and be done. I completely overpaid for my meal. I got only a little bit of mixed greens, but I still paid $3 for a half serving of seaweed salad, and extra serving of attitude. I can’t eat grains or I would have had rice which is more filling, so I left the place still super hungry. The flavor cannot be denied, it tasted amazing. So if I’m ever in Denver I would give them a second chance just in case the service improves, but if that’s not the case I rather not eat there again. It truly ruins the experience when service is as bad as I had in this establishment Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
We came at 5:40 on a Monday and they already had the stools up, while sweeping with air pods in their ears so they did not even notice us entering. Trash cans filled with kitchen mats in the eating area. They were out of a sauce. How can you even be out of a sauce??? 75 minutes left of service, go make sauce. The employees were somewhat helpful in taking our order and preparing our food. The patrons that followed us were out of luck for the tuna. Over all I feel like the quality is good, but the employees had zero direction and no manger to lead. Fuggin low rating on customer service. Teach your kids better please.
First timer to DPC and very much impressed! Went with two of the signature bowls and the ingredients were very fresh and tasty. Can definitely tell that the fish has not been frozen as they claim and the mix of flavors and textures come out very well. Portions are solid for the $15/bowl price and the staff was on point, especially just before closing time. Logistic note: you can’t order online past 5:30, but walk-in was still available. Parking: There are some loading zones nearby in case all meter parking is taken.
