Made a reservation for 9:15 but the restaurant was behind schedule and we didn't end up eating till around 10:15 p.m. nothing was done to compensate our waiting time. the water glasses smelled really bad; we asked for new ones but they smell just as bad. The steak was unevenly cooked. The broccolini was delicious. The lobster mac and cheese was subpar; overly creamy without much depth of flavor.

Our return trip to Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse located in the Westfield Century City Shopping Center was a great way for my wife Nina and I to kick off our 2024. We stopped in for an early dinner on a Saturday afternoon, and we were seated immediately in a comfortable booth situated with a nice view of Santa Monica Boulevard. Khristian was our server, and he was attentive and courteous throughout the service. No glass went unfilled and he did an impressive job of keeping us in Del Frisco’s delicious bread. Jerry and I both chose meat and potatoes for dinner, and you could certainly do worse in Los Angeles if that’s where you find your appetite. I opted for the 8 oz. Filet Mignon and the twice-baked potato on Khristian’s recommendation, and Jerry chose the 16 oz. Prime Strip with the Chateau Mashed Potatoes. I ordered my filet rare “warm”–a Del Frisco’s temperature option–and Jerry had his steak medium. We split a tasty Caesar Salad, and had to work to pace ourselves with the delicious warm, salted bread. Our meals came out in a timely fashion and very hot, which I requires of any meal. Both steaks were cooked to perfection, which is saying something for a Filet cooked to a unique degree of “Rare.” Jerry's Strip was well seasoned without being overly so, which can also be a challenge to many kitchens. As good as the steaks were, we were equally impressed with our respective side dishes. If you are a fan of mashed potatoes in general, there are two types on the Del Frisco’s menu: whipped and Chateau. We knew from a previous visit that the whipped potatoes are a bit on the thin side texture-wise and somewhat plain. The Chateau Mashed Potatoes have a lot more body and flavor, and they were the right choice for Jerry. I really enjoyed my Truffle Twice Baked Potato. The serving was so large we took home more than half of it, along with a small portion of my steak. When Jerry decided to warm up my leftovers for lunch the following day, He was surprised at just how flavorful a day-old potato could be. It was a genuine treat. Before we finished our meal a manager/GM named Jerry came over to talk to us about our experience, and a few simple comments turned into a warm, friendly conversation. We felt very much at home in what many would consider a white-linen restaurant, and Del Frisco’s is now on our list of favorite restaurants in Southern California.

I went for lunch and ordered the Prime Strip, a side of Lobster Mac and Cheese, and a side of Truffle Fries. I had a Strawberry Lemonade. Everything was delicious and service was great. I also ordered a Warm Butter Cake for dessert. Will be going back.

To be honest, I had never really been to a Del Frisco and did not have a particularly strong desire to go to one either. On a whim, we decided to check it out though and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. - The food was excellent. We shared salads, a steak, the salmon fries, and mac & cheese. All were excellent and as good as we have had at the Palm or Mastros. The portions were big and the bread to start was delicious - The service was top notch. They generally seemed to care about our experience and had multiple people checking on us - The atmosphere was nice, but it is in a mall, so I had to knock it a star as we had to park in the big structure to go there We for sure will go back and highly recommend!
