Got treated to this gem while on a weekend getaway and my oh my was blown away. From spicy lamb lollipops to lobster, I got to try so many of the delectable dishes. I was surprised how different albeit equally as tasteful the cuisine was compared to their sister restaurant, Sichuan House, also in Satx. I can see why it was on Diners, Drive In’s, and Dives!
So ,I went for lunch because it was highly recommended but that soon turned sour. Our waiter was not much of a waiter and almost seemed bored, which he probably was, since there was only another group at another table besides us.ordered the Mongolia beef, but it was mainly onions and peppers and was not worth the price, $15.98. No lunch specials here, I would not recommend this restaurant, save your cash and go somewhere else.
We stumbled across this place when another one of our favorites was booked. DASHI exceeded our expectations and then some. Sonya our waitress was well versed on the menu and gave great suggestions on the appetizers and entrees. We indulged in the garlicky green beans, eggplant, soup dumplings, fish filet, salt & pepper shrimp with steamed rice. Delivered to the table were huge half size portions, which were fresh and really flavorful. You can definitely tell the chefs know what they’re doing in the kitchen and cook the food to order. It was a packed house, we still were seated quickly, and there was no more than a 20 minute wait for our food! I’ll definitely be back!
Everything, from greeting to service to food, was fabulous! And, yes, the green beans really are THAT good!
Place has some of best spiced Asian food in san antonio!
Really good first experience definitely going to come back. The mapo tofu is super tasty and has a great Sichuan flavor.
I had a good time but I don’t think I’ll be returning. The service was good, a bit over the top. The food was decent. I enjoyed the Szechuan chicken.
I couldn’t believe how good and healthy the food was! We sat at the bar and had great conversation and learned a lot about true Sichuan cuisine Had the 3 mushrooms, flowered cauliflower, and a Sichuan peppercorn noodle beef dish. Excellent. Can’t wait to try the rest! Highly recommend
I have wanted to try Dashi since seeing them on Texas Eats. Ben had great recommendations for us. The Kung Pao chicken did not disappoint. I will be back to try more of Ben’s recommendations, like the Fried Rice with thick bacon. Sounds yummy.
If you are like me, I am always looking for new Chinese dishes. Well, I found it here. Great tasting ,great looking food drink, and top-notch service
