I came to this location because a few years ago I tried it and enjoyed. I wanted to continue to support them since a couple streets over DAS BBQ decided to build. Today however, I was disappointed. For one, the pricing on the menus is not what you pay and in addition to tax you pay a 10% unknown service fee. The food: I asked what’s fresh and of course the lady said everything and I should have known then there was a reason there was zero customers. I ordered chicken and ate it in my car. The chicken was clearly thrown in the fryer to make it hot. I ran a bbq restaurant many years and literally disciplined cooks for cutting corners and that’s exactly what they did. I know the taste of fried skin all day long. If I wanted fried chicken I would have gone down the street. I suggest keeping proper warmers or something. You don’t know what a persons dietary needs are and serve them fried when they are unaware is very negligent. I’m a champion for small businesses and will continue to be one but I also believe in giving honest constructive feedback. Do better. Please do better
Daddy Dz was the first place I ever had BBQ when I moved to Atlanta 18 years ago and they haven't lost their touch....with all the squabble about who has the best BBQ in the city I've always found that all I have to do is come back to the original place to answer that. Daddy Dz has been and forever shall be, my favorite BBQ joynt in the world.
Really I would rate Daddy D'z a 3.5. I rounded up due to the owner and the staff (owner's sibiling?). They were great, very friendly, and personable. They are the type of people you could sit with and talk to for an extended period of time. You could not ask for nicer people. The food was good but middle of the road for better BBQ places in Atlanta. The real down fall of this place is the prices and the portion size. They just don't stack up to other BBQ places in town that have better food. A good place but one I really wanted to like better. I hope it does well and the owners are successful. Update: The quality has really gone downhill. The brisket was tough and bland. The potato salad was on par with the prepackaged stuff you can buy at the grocery store.
Went there with friends. We thought to give it a try because it was a five star. They served an old rubbery, hard to chew ribs and also the brisket (some part of the ribs were cold) and it was expensive!!! Be warned, they even add surcharge besides the tax. NEVER Again.
Got to pull up pork sandwich. It was really good. It was hot as in freshly served. So, it made the bread a little soggy on the bottom but still great
Nice place but the ribs imma have to past and the Mac and cheese.
I would give them a 10 out of 5 the bbq beef ribs speak for themselves I left outta there ready for a nap
